I look at launch titles this year or to come, and there are some huge titles coming out. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and XIII-2, Uncharted 3, ect. And then I look at my wii, that is collecting dust beside my X Box and Sega Saturn, what games are coming out for this console? Besides the new Zelda game, there isnt anything. Xenoblade is not coming to North America, which I thought about importing but besides that, wii looks kind of dead for new launch titles. I hope the wii doesnt end this way, its launch was huge, and looks like the wii may crash worse then the DreamcastGamerNerdTalk
The Wii isn't really crashing, when it's time for a new console, the developer starts to abandon the old one. The Dreamcast crashed with nothing to replace it.The Wii's start couldn't have been better. Unlimited demand for a limited supply-Nintendo made oodles of money. The only reason why I got one was becasue we went to Gamestop in the morning and waited in the car until the UPS truck arrived and ran inside the store to buy one of two they had just recieved, the person behind me bought the 2nd one. Zelda will be the huge title for Wii this year.
Worse than it started?! If I remember correctly the Wii was in very high demand and it was sold out across the globe. And looking at the final titles for this console its not a bad bunch, you have Zelda, Xenoblade, The Last Story, Kirby and there may be many others including releases for the Virtual Console. I don't think this will be a terrible ending for the console, it has run its course and has been a great console but Nintendo know when its time to move on and in the next few months the Wii will be layed to rest.
Its starting and ending with Zelda. Thats pretty good in my books

It started with a mirrored blurry version of twilight princess. My answer is that the wii has always been just as crappy as it is now and I cant wait to spend the money I would have spent on the nest nintendo console on xbox or ps4 games.
Nintendo has always been about innovative games in my eyes, I think that is far better than selling one game on 360/ps3 that becomes as success then making millions of others until the franchise is dead *cough* CoD...
Have faith in Nintendo they are awesome :P
Well it's kinda hard to top its beginning with the biggest Zelda game in the history as its launching title. :Pfunsohng
Betwwen the horrible controls, it being mirrored and blurry yeah I guess, or I will just play the true version on the gamecube.
I wouldn't say crashing since it has sold more than anything else. It's not like it's doing poorly and going to ruin Nintendo. It had an ok library, the worst of anything out, but you can still find a lot of great games and Nintendo released a decent amount (which was just more of the same for the most part, really a shame they couldn't bring anything new like the three games people want imported). Nothing that exciting is coming but the system certainly isn't crashing. They are just getting ready for the new system (it's the same with the DS and PSP), which hopefully will crash with all of the horrible announcements about it (360 and PS3 are already holding back the improvement of games we don't need another console to come out eight years later that can only match their tech that's been outdated for years).
Why did you title your thread "So the wii is ending worse then it started" and then put "I hope the wii doesnt end this way, its launch was huge" in your post?
Well it's kinda hard to top its beginning with the biggest Zelda game in the history as its launching title. :PfunsohngI guess if we ignore that just about everyone prefers other Zelda games to it, it offered nothing new, and was also out on the Gamecube which was the superior version.
It's ending about the same way it started. Least we get a ground up Zelda rather then a GC one :)locopatho
Ya FINALLY!!!
And hopefully their key launch game for the Wii U will be made ground up for it to utilize its functions the best it can, I'm hoping for Mario, I miss that guy at launch :(
I'm sorry, I prefer TP Wii a lot more. I actually like the controls and IR aiming really make the game better for me. And even though it offered nothing new (though I personally thought being able to change between wolf and human at whim and the level designs around that was pretty genius), it still was a solid game, and while it may not be the best Zelda (but I still think it's very close to the top), to cast it as unworthy sounds like a whiny rant. And how is being mirrored a bad thing? If anything it's merely different, and if you are complaining about that, that's really.... bad.funsohng
Mirrored is a huge deal, link is left handed and any true zelda fan hate a right handed link, it is like if mario shot gumbas with a machine gun instead of jumping on them.
lol TC is this your ever console generation. All hardware begins the same, with maybe on killer app and a slew of multiplat games and ports. And they all end the same way, with one or two last hoorahs and a series of shovelware and multiplat games.
^any true Zelda fan just wants to play a great Zelda game, they don't care which hand Link carries his sword in. Whether he carried it in his left, right or in his teeth, it doesn't effect the gameplay the series is known for........well maybe that last one would.

False, true Zelda fans enjoy good games rather than nitpick completely pointless nothings

Yeah I'm always ragging on TP but the hand Link uses to wield his sword isn't a problem :P[QUOTE="funsohng"]I'm sorry, I prefer TP Wii a lot more. If someone didn't play Twilight Princess Wii just because Link swung the sword with his right hand they have serious issues. You saying that makes me laugh at your entire argument. And it's definately not the best zelda game ever- Link to Past, OOT, MM, and WW are all better in my opinion, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the game.

You mean innovative games like Mario Party 9 and another New Super Mario Bros that plays exactly the same, but lets people use a mii? Nintendo USED to be known for innovation. Now, they're better-known amongst the gaming community for weak hardware, shoverware, and (at least NOA) for not localizing games of depth that the wii's game library desperately needs. This wii may have very well been my last Nintendo console and I've had every one since the NES -- even the vision-killing virtual boy.

To me they've been innovative in that theybecame so financially successful off of the idea of motion control that the competing companies started utilizing it. If the WiiU ends up doing the same thing, you have to give Nintendo some credit for being innovative.
