The point of this game is the multi-player mode. It's everything that myself and my siblings wish we could have done growing up, but couldn't.

You haven't played this game in it's rightful light spectrum until you've played with three other people. It is the most frustrating and rediculously entertaining thing to come along since Smash Bros. Brawl. It is totally rediculous. Everything is way funnier than it should be with four players.

Now, if your goal with this game is to succeed at completion perfectly, you will find yourself in a straight jacket sooner than later if you don't take a break from it. Single player can get frustrating in a bad way, because the focal point of you playing it changes to a traditional platform adventure game. To simply make it through the levels. Nintendo knew when they developed it that this wasn't the reason to buy or play this game.

I went over to a friends house who bought it the day of release, with my two remotes and I think we stopped playing it after we were in tears with our sides aching, six hours later. This game isn't for the critic, it's for people who like having folks over and losing at it horribly.

Well the game is fun, but definitely easier in single player, especially world 7 >_>

The weakest entry of the Mario 2D platformers

It's really a hard sell to get the game

I mean you could spend around 40 and grab the New Super Mario or you could get Mario 1, Mario Lost Levels, Mario 3, Super Mario World and throw in Mario 2 for good measure all for 31.

gonna have to agree with Jaysonguy.. massive massive dissapointment for me. i wasnt expecting it to top mario 3 or world, but to atleast bring me some enjoyment. i took the game back and got my money back.

Well I just got it yesterday, and honestly its a lot more fun for me than the old games were.

I honestly don't know how anyone could say that if they've played the previous titles

Everything from the level design to the graphics for the era in the earlier games are so far above the newest version

Jaysonguy

I honestly don't know how anyone could say otherwise, it is the best one.

... Aren't opinions fun.

I'm talking facts

The technical proficiency of the graphics in the earlier Mario games are better then what the Wii has with New Mario Bros, fact

The level design is much better on 3 and SMW then on New Super Mario Bros, fact

The average difficulty on Lost Levels beats the most difficult parts on New Super Mario Bros, fact

Yeah, those aren't facts. Level design is your opinion, as is difficulty. Some people are better at some aspects than others, and more difficulty doesn't equal a better game. Also, you compare the graphics to the hardware, but NSMBW is still the most technically powerful game, and we aren't living in the past. I agree that purchasing all the old games is a better value in overall gameplay, but people like something fresh.

How is it a hard sell? It's nintendo's most accessible game for the Wii and the sequel to a game that sold 20 million copies. None of the games you mentioned are multiplayer so they are'nt a good substitute.

It's really fun. But it's no Galaxy, Super Mario 64, SMW, or SMB 3. So in other words it's not a classic.

Honestly though, its somewhat a dissapointment because I was hoping it would be as fun and have as much replay value as zelda four swords was and has, but o well :(
