So who isn't getting the 3DS next week?

There are so many topics asking who is getting it, I thought it would be a good idea for those of us not getting it to have a topic where we can talk about why we arn't.

I'm not getting it for 2 reasons.

First, because of Pokemon HeartGold last year and now Pokemon White, I have ended up with quite a large collection of half-completed DS games which I want to get back to before I even think of getting the 3DS.

Second, if I was to get one at launch I would just be using it as a regular DS until the games such as Ocarina of Time 3D, Snake Eater 3D, and Resident Evil come out, because there is nothing of interest in there launch line-up.

Also not really a reason why I'm holding off, but I am hoping that there will be a Special Edition 3DS for Ocarina of Time.

I will not be getting it because I am very happy with my DSi and it would not be worth trading it in for around £40 (get ripped off) and then get the 3ds, I agree when you say most of the exciting looking games aren't coming out at launch so maybe one day, but not yet.

I want to be part of the launch, however I'm not getting it. I still have DQIX and Pokemon White to complete, among others like Professor Layton and The Curious Village and Rhythm Heaven which I got at a discounted price.

Also the launch line up doesn't look appealing to me. I'm really waiting for four titles. Mario Kart 3DS, Ocarina of Time 3D, Paper Mario and Super Mario.

Me. Can't afford it at the moment. Gotta buy another car, rent, kids, all the fun stuff of being an adult lol. Plan on getting one as soon as I can though.

I've played the 3DS a lot and I'm just not that interested.

Since it's missing a second analogue stick it can't play games like Resident Evil well so that means it's back to doing what the DS/Lite/I/XL can do which is only certain genres.

We know that Nintendo isn't happy with the 3DS' hardware and will continue tweaking the handheld so I'll just want for a later version.

Tiny screens, horrible battery life, no games, incredible small line of sight in order to make the 3D work.

If I had extra $$ floating around I'd definitely get one.

I'm sure it's an awesome system. I remember thinking of the DS as a gimmic with its 2 screens and touch screen, but then I played Yoshi Touch N Go and was hooked. I'm sure the 3DS is equally if not more innovatively awesome.

The main reason I'm not getting it is because of the game content. So far it just looks like a bunch of old games remade. Even Ocarina of Time. One of the best games of all time sure, but I've played it to death already, I want to play something new!

Yes, I'm getting mine on Sunday :P Honestly though I'm getting it because it has so much potential and I think the design is pretty solid. Battery life is pretty bad but hey I owned a PSP and I lived with it. I skipped the Wii this generation and I hated missing out on Zelda and Mario and all other great Nintendo first pary games. I love gaming on my big screen HDTV but I also want that feeling you get when you're playing a nintendo handheld. Also, I just want to mention that I don't think that Nintendo will release and new iteration as soon as it did with the original DS. The original DS was bulky and ugly and I don't think the 3DS looks bad at all.

I am not getting the 3ds right now either. I could not be more than happier with my DSi Pokemon white bundle right now, very cool limited edition pokemon dsi. I am not that crazy with the whole 3d thing and am pretty sure it will faze out faster than it fazed in. Anyway the whole 3d thing just makes my eyes bug and my head ache. Plus the games comming out are more ($40 bucks) and I am not that interested in what they have comming out at launch. So we will see down the road. Also I heard battery life sucks, viewing angle sucks on 3ds can only see 3d on certain angles, bottom touch screen is now smaller, finger print magnet, regular ds games actually look worse on it, hence they only really focused on the 3d aspect rather than improved graphics for ds cartridges, 3d slider is a gimmick why have it, oh yeah because they already no everyone is going to get headaches and have eye sight problems so they said you can just turn the 3d switch off?? Kids warning, no one under 6 should play. What a joke, why even bother getting the 3ds system than since it is 3d intended. Like I said I will stick with my pokemon white dsi bundle and could not be any happier. Cheers!!

im not getting the 3ds because i just bught a psp 2000,god of war chain of olympus,ghost of sparta,kingdom hearts,resistance and ultimate alliance 2

i know the 3ds is new but the launch lineup only has 2 games that say buy me which is street fighter 4 and dead or alive plus im not interested in 3d at all.

Maybe later but not at launch. I'm gonna wait for better games to come out.

That only really lasted a year, after that it wasn't as difficult to find one. That's about how long I'll be waiting before I get one too.

Doubtful considering you can still preorder a 3ds anywhere and even Japan has em readily availible...

Not gonna be like Wii at all.

I'm waitingtill the really good games to come out.

I'll hold off on buying one. The launch line-up is terrible for me, and I have no idea when Paper Mario, Star Fox, or Mario Kart (or any other interesting titles) are coming out for it, so I'd only be using it to replace my old DS, which really needs an upgrade simply due to the battery lasting less than 30 minutes now. Besides that, I'm not expecting them to be in stock anywhere anyway, and I'm not going to camp out for something that doesn't have any interesting games.

Getting it in June after school lets out and it has some good games. I've got Okamiden, Pokemon White and tons of other things to keep me busy until then.

I waited two years after the original NDS came out before buying a NDS Lite.

No, I'll probably wait for the 3DSi, or the 3DSI XL, or maybe even the 3DS Lite.

Im not getting one, im only just starting to get into my ds even though iv had it for years. Gonna buy a new ds soon, cant wait(i have a phat). I only have a handful of ds games so i have a lot of catching up to do. I will get the 3DS once there are better games available, im happy to wait a year or so.

Waiting for about a year. I played pilot wings at Best Buy the other day and was not impressed. Once the price drops a bit and alot of good games are out I might give it a shot.

I only really agree with your last reason, having a OoT 3DS would be pretty sweet! But I have a feeling that its going to be like the Wii all over again. So, that's why I'm getting one on launch, plus I love nintendo handhelds!

No not me, I find it interesting but I chose the dsi (xl) because of the game list (RPGS) I was looking around for a consol that had a large RPG list, so checked out the game list first, then chose the consol that played them, the dsi.But it seems the RPGs available for the 3DS is a bit short on RPGs (at the moment) also my eyes are crap because of years of close up working, so the bigger screen on the DSXL is perfect.

I'll wait till around summer to get one.

None of the games out right now are a "must buy" for me. So I'd rather just wait till Zelda, Metal Gear, and Animal Crossing come out. What's the rush?

Im not, my reason is because id rather have an NGP but I wont say it because I dont wanna offend any fanboys :)
