Solely Resolution, How Low Is Too Low To Not Buy It the Next Nintendo Console?

Let me elaborate here. First off, take the rumors and give them the boot. Drop them off at your nearest toxic waste areas where they may reside with Uranium- 294 for all I care.

Solely on resolution, what if the next console was actually not 1080p? What if it wasn't even in standard HD (720p)? Would you buy it?If the next console was still 480p, would you buy it anyway?

This question is NOT what you prefer the resolution to be, it's "how low is too low to back out completely?"

Nintendo knows it can't do it with just games anymore, it's going to need movies and things like that and no one is going to settle for less then 1080p

Given that this question is specifically asking about my buying intentions, I don't care. The Wii runs at only 480p and it looks fine to me.

I didn't buy my Wii for the amazing graphics. 720 would be nice, but it's pretty low on my list of "things I want in a Nintendo console."

Resolution isn't that important to me. As long as it is upgraded Technology I don't care. Mainly because 3 out of 4 TVs in my house is SD and the only TV that is HD is a 20 Inch that looks smaller in HD then it does if it was SD.

Best graphics? It was Wind Waker.

Don't care about the resoultion of a system a lot. The only time I care about the resoultion of something is when a game looks incredibly bad ona system it has been developed on.

The difference between 720 and 1080 is minimal, so I really don't care between the two. I'd much rather developers just focus on the actual graphics and drop the resolution to 720 instead of play games at 1080.

And it's not like resolutions are going to be stuck at one spot. Just like this gen there will be games at both 1080p 1080i and 720p.

I would be very surprised, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker. I don't base my purchases off of resolution.meetroid8

I honestly don't care. I am buying it regardless of the resolution, because I trust Nintendo will make a fun system to play.

720p no less, c'mon with all that grunt (if the specs is true) under the hood...1080p would be nice but not required for me.

Well I sti 8ft away from my TV so everything looks fine. that siad they have no excuse for not providing 720p. I think 720p should be find & devs should be free to choose that or something higher, but nothing lower

Your in over your head if u think 1080p is gonna become a standard next gen even for MS & Sony. There is no way for consoles to keep up with PC's without sacrificing resolution eventually.

I'd be fine with 720p, as like other people have said the PS3 and 360 don't even always have their games at 720p let alone 1080p. Not that I would mind 1080p though. I don't really think there's any chance Nintendo won't do at least 720p by now. They would only do it to be mean. Although it's always possible they will find a way to do 720i, I've never seen anything have that resolution but they might find a way.

Even if that happens i trust Nintendo will make great games even if don't like the controls

1080p at least. My computer has parts that are 3 years old and can max anything. I don't want any next-gen console that can't do 1080p. High standards? Maybe. I'd definitely want 720p or 1080p support for Wii games though.

Seriously, HD or nothing. I mean if its all native 720p, then I'm cool with that. I'd like native 1080p, and I don't think thats asking much being as we're probably getting a 360 equivalent with 8GB flash storage, and probably paying $350 for it too.

Yes, I know none of that is confirmed, it's pretty likely though.

Yeah there's only a few dozen right now between retail and digital but that's growing all the time.
