I'm thinking about buying myself a Wii on May and i would like to ask some questions:

1. Does the Wii need any king of Memory Card?

2. Does the Wii plays Gamecube games?

3. Does the Wii work on a Standard television? (Non-HD)

4. Is the Wii worth it? (Your opinion)

  1. It does not need a memory card, it does have limited internal memory which will be more than suffice for game saves, though if you plan on downloading a lot of content (WiiWare, Virtual Console games) you may want to invest in an SD Card.
  2. Yes it does.
  3. Yes, infact some games are arguably better played on a standard definition television (since the games aren't HD).
  4. I think it is. If you have specific tastes for certain genres the Wii might be lacking (say if you really like online FPS or something), but if you're open minded there is certainly a large library of really great games to play.

Yes, and this is the biggest nuissance. Gamecube memory cards and gamecube controllers are becoming harder to find. The wii could have benefited by releasing a gamecube controller made for the wii (similar to the classic controller) and by having an internal "gamecube memory" like what the ps3 did for ps1 and ps2 games. Luckily, I still have my gamecube controller and plenty of gamecube memory, and I'm not buying any new gamecube games, so as long as they last, they'll do. I've had gamecube memory cards die on me in the past though...

But since all other questions have been answered, I'll just tell you that in my opinion, the wii is a good buy. If you look past all the cheap shovelware, there are some real good gems.

I think it is an especially worthwhile investment now since they have added Wii Motion Plus and Wii Sports Resort to the package.

1. No, but if your going to take full advantage of your Wii, you should get one. Be ware as the Wii does not accept SDHC cards.

2. Perfectly

3. Yes

4. If your a more retro/old school gamer then yes. If your a more modern gamer then get an Xbox 360.

5. Yes.

I personally only use SD cards to hold all of my downloaded channels and games off of the Wii Shop Channel.

1. They have them, but not required. 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Now listen here, the answer is YES on a scale to good for Earth. Anyone who says anything less than yes: their opinion is wrong. They are incorrect. There is no, 'what if' because they are wrong no matter what the circumstance if it's not a reassurance that the Wii is worth it.
