Some red thing in town on Animal crossing

I visited my friend's town and he had a big red thing in his town, is it a mushroom. We can't dig it out

Could u tell me how to get rid of it

I think it's because you have too many weeds.  Pick all the weeds and it should go away in a day or so.zelda450
