Im just gonna copy/paste this from a forum I joined just to have some help with this problem but no one *******replies.

I have been looking for some help a long time now (well, not a long time, really). See, I bought a WI-FI USB Connector for the Wii some time ago and it worked perfectly. I got a virus (from other stuff) and they fixed my PC. It's working good and stuff, but now when I try to use the USB and connect to the Internet from my Wii, my connection's status is "acquiring network address" or something like that.

I cant connect to the Internet, and what's worse, is, when I use the USB my computer sometimes randomly freezes, and it only happens when the USB is connected. Please, someone help me with this. I donno what to do, I could try my sister's computer but well, she won't allow me and I haven't gone online on the Wii for about 5 months.

I tried it on my sisters computer, it doesnt freeze but everytime I click on run nintendo wifi usb connector, a small icon appears that says acquiring network address, and it never acquires it or w.e the **** its supposed to do. I donno what to do PLEASE HELP, SOMEONE. Ok great, NOW it froze my sisters computer too!! It's the mother**** USB! I donno what it does but its a ****** pain. Do I have to buy a new one now? F****** great.,

Start with the basics first. Uninstall the Wi-Fi software than reinstall it and set up the permission and search for access point. That could fix your problems there. If that does not than there is a conflict somewhere. My guess is it is most likley not the Wifi connecter. However it could be anything. Could be the USB port, the Wifi, ect.

If you have already tried to reinstall the software and it is still doing it.. get yourself another Wifi usb to test it. Keep the reciept and dont destroy the package so you can take it back if it is not that. They may be hard to come by now as they were discontinued.

Just a quick note too.. completely uninstall everything then install. It's hard to be able to tell you more as I have no idea what they did to "fix" your computer. Most places just like to delete things and format as it is a quick easy fix. Then they tell you they had to do it to "save" your computer.

If that does not work.. if you have another USB port try that one. There are more things you can try though it gets much more complicated. So if none of these easy fix's work I would suggest finding a new one.. and if you get the same result,, buy a wireless router.

Good Luck.

What does that mean exactly? Format the hard drive and reinstall everything? That probably changed some of your network settings. Try to set up the internet connection on your own and don't use a provider. Worked for me. I basically had the same problem.
