Sure, there have always been "stupid" games on every console, like minigame collections or movie games (face it, they're never good), and I have no problem with people buying it if they actually are interested in such game, or if you need something to keep your little cousin off your Zelda. But there's a point when it stops making sense to me. Why would someone buy a game like Wii Chess? You can just as easily go to MSNZone.com and play, with better opponents and for free. I could list other examples here, but I'm pretty sure I've made my point.

You don't have to buy games like that. There's always the hardcore games on the console. It's just Nintendo wants to balance casual and hardcore games on the console.

I agree. Ninjabread Man is 1000 times better than Wii Chess. I apologize if this sounds stupid.

There's a market for crummy games, or else they wouldn't make them. All you can do is make informed buys, and try to inform other people when they're considering buying a crummy game.

Tbh with all the competition and places to use player's money i really don't see much future for games like Wii Chess as a standalone game. I mean even if it has region ranked online play, a lot of options from cool-looking causal to standard chess i would never buy such a game.

So while many complain of a (mini)game collection at sight i think that this packs are the future for some older genre games. A single game with Tetris? a single game with chess? a single game with snooker? a single game with poker? No!

A pack Tetris+Chess+Snooker+Poker Yes!

Minigame collections are valid and they can be great, as long as they're done properly, like WarioWare. Movie games always suck, though. I'll give you that.
