Something I think they should have added to Metroid Prime Trilogy...

Map annotation like in the Phantom Hourglass! When I'm going through the game, I'm always looking hooks/spider ball tracks/morph ball tunnels in the environment and its impossible to remember every single one you see because there's so many.. Oh, and the games are HUGE. Sometimes I spend hours trying to remember where I saw that hook once I've got the grapplehook upgrade, you know?

This is actually a pretty good idea. The maps in the Prime series are sometimes pretty difficult to navigate, you know?

That would have made it a easier for sure. I really like the prime maps but your idea would be cool

That's actually a good idea - though who knows they might implement a similar feature in Metroid: Other M.

Yeah, that's a decent idea. But of course, you could just take notes on pen and paper, you know?

It's more convenient having a map in game, unless you want to draw out the entire game map on a piece of paper >_>

name of the room: *insert name*, close to *insert name*, located on *insert name*. return after getting *insert item* to get *insert item*. way more practical than putting a marker on the map with the name of the item you need to do whatever you need to do.

because NES hyrule is as hard to draw as tallon IV :P

no offense to your mom, i couldn't draw a decent octorock even if my life depended on it, much more a map of a whole game :P

True. But hey that's the hardest back in the day. She took the time and effort to draw a detailed map, plus mark where enemies, treasure, and all the other good stuff was located :P.

I never said paper and pen would be easier. But since that feature isn't in the game, paper and pen is your only option. It's better to write the stuff down instead of getting lost in the game. I was trying to give the original poster a suggestion. No need to make sarcastic comments.

I wish they put Kraid in Prime 1 like he was supposed to be when the game first came out...

I could... or maybe I could save paper and write a little word document instead :P I think I may do that from now on... I feel like I've left so many places unexplored because I forgot about them :(

it was meant to be more of a joke, but whatever. i'm pretty sure TC knows he could take notes on paper, he's just mentioning how the absurdly helpful "take notes on the map" feature that appeared on phantom hourglass would help metroid prime players.

I like your idea....

I remember when Prime 2 was brand new, and I liked to hang out with "Mary Jane" at that point in my life. I remember starring at the map and I couldn't differentiate if the map was upside down or right side up while looking at it because of the "state" I was in at the time.

Notes would've definitely helped lol

no mary jane here, but i know what you mean... sometimes you're looking at the map and for some reason your brain starts looking at it in a different way, and then you start freaking out because you cant figure out where is everything because everything looks upside down :P

i think the one thing they should have added would be making it online. Echos has multiplayer, and they could have made a 8-12 person online with a few modes. If they did this, it would have sold 10x as many copies. But it would have required Nintendo to do something that hardcore gamers want, which is againist company motto.

I think they should have made the wall jumps in 2 like it was in 3. Corruption's wall jumps with the screw attack was flawless but I can rarely even get it to work in 2... weird.

and dots on the map where pick ups are.

and a message saying when you've completed an area, ie finding all the items in an area. (ex all items in dark agon wastes found, or something along those lines)

That's what I did to 100% Echoes in the Trilogy. Every time I saw an upgrade or something fishy in a room, I'd write the name of the room on a piece of paper. I listed them all according to what upgrade I needed in order to get the powerup, so when I got the upgrade, I just went back to all the rooms I had written down. It worked really well.

But it would've been nice to be able to make notes in the game. Even just being able to highlight rooms of interest would've been good.

I'm pretty sure the crowds who like video games and the crowds who like "mary jane" often are one and the same. For better or worse...

It was probably six little sticky notes. It was organized and efficient. :)

wow. every 3 seconds i feel the need to take note of something, and it usually is a really long note. like "get to dark world version of the room, super missile something, get to portal, go morph ball there and bomb jump for energy tank"
