Play so that switching between pokemon right after the target faints is turned OFF. It's basically like playing against a human player, but throughout the game. I've always thought these games were simple and the pokemon variety in different trainers is lame, but if I were to play the entire game not knowing what my cpu opponent is going to send out next, it would be a different game. Have you ever played with the switch pokemon rule off?

Yeah. I usually only turn the switch on when I'm training something weak.

Haha now that you mention it, I've played all main Pokemon games and never thought of doing a story playthrough in that way... sounds fun maybe I'll do it when I have the mood of restarting my game

Mine was off throughout my playing of Platinum until I got to Cynthia (I had bothered catching pokemon so I only had a party of 3, as I was meant to trade them from Pearl) and I had my team's moves set out so I could easily beat her. Then I thought they had removed that feature from Platinum and lost only to find that there was a switch. But yeah, it does change the way it feels to fight trainers so it's probably a good idea.

Yep, you caught me, I've never done that before. Main reason is because it saves a turn in Bait n Switch training.

I didn't even know what that option meant. You mean the shift/set option, right? Never even touched that before.

i think i tried for a while in ruby after beating the elite 4. though i very rarely require to switch between pokes mid-battle against CPU players.

but you know one thing that i really miss in pokemon black? the L=A option. you could play the game with only one hand!

...

...

...

...

NOT FOR THAT.

I've always considered it, but during the game, I was lazy to grind so I would try and only use super effective attacks in an effort to efficiently level my pokemon.

I have actually done that ever since I first got my first Pokemon game ruby. I guess when I was 8 I thought it was annoying and turned it off. If I turn the switch on, i consider it "cheating" myself. It brings an extra challenge IMO.

I didn't know you could do that. I wish they gave us an option to choose which Pokemon we're going to send out for the first battle instead of it always being the first one, with wild encounters we could run before sending anyone out.

I think you should poll this because I had no idea this existed in the game as well. I figured the game always told you whats coming next......wow. Really that option existed? Been playing since red and blue and never knew.

Yea, me too. I've known of its existence since the originals, but I never considered doing it because it seemed stupid to me as a kid. But now that the games are easier for me, I should try it out, at least on a second run-through or something.

I did it once before on Red/Blue/Yellow & I didn't like it. Never went back to that option ever since. I prefer switching out when I have weak pokemon status or when leveling my pokemon evenly.

Yes, but only on one or two occasions. And not for an entire game. That'd be a lot harder.

TAKING TURNS TO MAKE MONSTERS THAT FIT INSIDE AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE THE SIZE OF A FIST SLAP EACH OTHER. don't you dare tell me that's not realistic.
