Actually I think they'll be in Super Smash brawl for two reasons 1. theres enough time for him to get put in 2. even though they said its the first game to be put in together Super Smash brawl is actually a multi nintendo fight game not a mario game reallyI agree with you, and it would be nice to expand the character selection. If he comes on or not, I'm sure I will be very happy with the game once it comes out.

This is all 100% true only if we know that SSBB comes out before the olympic game...if it comes out afterwards or they completely change their minds....then sonic could be in brawl.... but like many of us are hoping and prayin... we want Brawl ASAP, which means before Q4 rolls around -Zuma

[QUOTE="SmashBrosLegend"]Matt from Ign said he'd be in, so I'll go with that. ZumaJones07Matt works for Nintendo?!? No, but Nintendo told him TONS of wii info, but it was an NDA so he can't say anything, but he heavily hinted at Sonic in brawl....well he basically told us.
NO Sonic should not being in Brawl. Sonic should just be put to rest. The only people that need to be in Brawl and characters that are Nintendos or at least originated on Nintendo (snake)FlawlessSeasonsSorry, but Snake's first appearance was on the MSX system.

Not to mention Sonic has had a much bigger and influential history with Nintendo than Snake/
Why don't people want to see Sonic in SSBB? I think he would be an excellent addition to the SSB list of characters!
BYAKUGAN!!
you know what I found interesting this but more specifically this part of the article.

BIZ: Is this partnership perhaps an indicator that we might indeed see Sonic make an appearance in the upcoming Wii title Super Smash Bros. Brawl?
GH: We can't really comment on any sort of hidden characters in Smash Bros. at this point. Simon did reference that we've had a growing cooperation and respect over the last few years, and I think each success builds on itself. So we expect this game to be very successful. I am a little concerned about Sonic's speed when he's racing Mario in a footrace, so we'll have to see how we can equalize that.
Why would he say that they cant comment on any sort of hidden characters in smash bros. unless he was going to be in it? or is that just me reading too much into it :?
While I'm hoping that there will be a slew of surprise characters in SSBB, Sonic is one of the characters I'd prefer to be left out of the roster. I'm not sure why, but Sonic has never appealed to me, even the old sonic games.
I wouldn't mind seeing characters like Diddy Kong or even Banjo (didn't Rare split from Nintendo? so this may not be possible); or even some of the characters from Castlevania or Bomberman. The one playable character I'd most like to see added to SSBB is Bulbasaur, because he's cool (sad, but I can't help it).

It's not reading too much into it. If the possibility was absolutely unfounded, the guy would've just said "No" or "Not to the best of my knowledge." Since he's obviously been told not to say too much about Brawl, a game that SEGA is (supposedly) not involved with in any way, we can take it as a really good sign for Sonic's presence in Brawl.

I never really played the Metal Gear series that much, but I learned so much about it....from that Wikipedia article...very interesting story they got going on there. Anyway, I don't think Sonic will be in brawl hence this statement by a one of the developers at Sega:
"IGN: Does this pave the way for Sonic and Mario starring together in other games?
Laurent Fischer: We've spent a long time finalising this one and we're not thinking about the next game, just yet. The Olympics just seemed like the right way to bring them together.
IGN: So we won't see Sonic appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl?
Laurent Fischer: That's not on the cards at the moment."
