why dont u all forget GS ratings on wii games. They gave each and every wii title what they didnt deserve Wii sports shouldve been at least 8.3 Zelda shouldve been a little higher, like 9.3 WW shouldve been 8.8 Dragon Ball z: BT:2 shouldve been atleast 8 elebits shouldve been higher and sonic shouldve been at least 8.2...

How is this game a "flop"? It's the best 3D Sonic yet, according to many of the reviews. Also, I have some games in my collection with failing (below 6) reviews that I've enjoyed more than games with good reviews. For example, Bomberman 64 vs. Donkey Kong 64. Reviews can be helpful, like in the case of Red Steel, but to depend on even only an 8 or above entirely would leave me without playing/owning Donkey Kongas, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (wait, isn't this one of the better 2D fighters ever made?), Marvel Ultimate Alliance, etc.

Its not a bust in my opinion. Look at the average of the ratings at Gamerankings.com I know gamespot gave it a good score and IGN gave it a bad score. IGN is a sellout anyway their opinion really doesn't matter. This game is solid. Sure the music isn't that great but its fast paced (what sonic is known for). The graphics are amazing true of a Wii game. The controls are good and simple. Some say they could be better. The camera has been improved. This is far better than the 4.4/10 that the 360 iteration got. This is the best sonic game in years and you would turn it down because it got a bad rating from IGN? C'mon.

You should be out renting every Wii game you find interest in, and writing your own personal reviews. On topic: I personally didn't expect much from it. From what I understand so far, it seems that the single player is great, but the multiplayer drags the score down a bit. be_very_afraid
It's moslty the multiplayer and sound dragging it down. It's had a few solid AA scores and even 2 AAA's. True, the AA's were from lame sources, but they still stand as AAA's.
Some people act like a game can only be great or a flop, there is such a thing as a good game and this sounds like one. Although I was never interested in it to begin with, thats just personal taste.
I remember when some people were bashing Red Steel and Excite Truck, and both got low ratings on most of the sites. Personally, I got both games, and like them both. I pay no attention to the ratings when I base a decision to get a game. If the game looks cool, I may buy it. If it looks decent, I may rent it first. If I like it, then I buy it. I firmly believe that the rating of games is over rated at times. For the record, a rating on a game is an opinion of that game by a particular individual that played it. I wouldn't be so quick to judge a game based on what someone else has said about it. It really comes down to this: If you are that skeptical about how a game is going to turn out; rent it first, and then buy it if YOU like it.
The Wii Sonic is a step in the right direction and seems to be enjoyable. It is supposedly the best one in a long time and gives franchise lovers at least a little more faith. I lost all my faith in Sega and I was once a huge Genisis fanboy. Sonic was my favorite series, but all of their games seem to rip me off. Every time I buy one I wish I didnt.
I'm hearing praise for this iteration, it could never have gotten huge, but from what I hear it's worth playing. I'd buy it, it's probaby better than the craptastic Sonic game for the 360 and PS3.

Taking points off of a game for what they expected to come with the game and not the game itself.wow that's so wrong on so many levels, first of all each channel in the IGN site has it's own editors, so just because this is on Wii and this is on PS2 doesn't really matter, they are ALWAYS different people who review certain games, thus, different tastes. HOWEVER i do agree with you on something, the PS2 has been getting some silly overrated reviews there, SOTC 9.7? GOW 9.8? GOW2 9.7? FFX-2 9.5? FF12 9.5? , IT'S REDICULOUS, but at the asme time the Wii channel has been giving out great reviews since day one, they hit the nail in every game out there, warioware, zelda, trauma center etc. so i wouldn't be suprised if sonic was really a 6.9 experience, also you should read the reviews, not just the scores.
