in a recent PS3/Ps2/PsP magizen my brother picked up,it showed that the ps3 is gonna have there own "Mii" channel,where you make your own "icon of yourself"and go to places to talk to other people.

what do you think?

I think Sony is the worst gaming company by far right now! This is new news to me but now I feel since they are dropping more and more in the race everday I feel they are desperate but in my eyes making a copying gesture wont do any good.

yeah, this isn't news. They were obviously inpired by miis, but It's not exactly a ripoff.

It's called HOME and is FAR beyond the Mii idea.

If they are copying anything, they're copying Second Life.

Home is much better then the Mii Channel, the mii's don't do anything really, waste of a channel. Home is definitly going to be on my ps3. I really hope the Wii get's something to compete against sony's online gaming. My Wii would love to get used a little more.

Miis were more or less "inspired" by online Avatars for chatrooms & such. So everyone copies everyone

I'm not trying to defend Sony but, it would be kind of hard for themto use something other than avatars or things like that to represent who people are so I wouldn't call that stealing. (Even though Nintendo is way better anyway).

while i dont think "home" is a rip off of mii i will say IMHO sony is VERY bad about ripping off others ideas. ninty seems to be there #1 targets lol. i think the home softwear from what i have read is a kool idea. to bad im not willing to pay that price or put up with (if history cont.'s) flimsy hardwear that burns out after a couple of years. remember when sony riped off the wii-mote. i remember that night the mods had to go all jack booted to try and keep the out rage supressed.

Home = Second LIfe rip-off. Seriously, again, Sony doesn't have creativity at all. They took the most casual community on the internet and bring it on the PS3 with some Sony ads.

I'm still not convinced to pay a 700$ console.

This topic belongs in the System Wars forum. Topics such as this, when posted in the console-specific forums, generally initiate senseless bashing of competing consoles. Gamespot only allows that in one forum on the entire site -- System Wars. You can repost this there, although I'm sure there's already a topic created about it. Thanks!
