i know Super paper mario got a better review but i dont know whats fun about it. The gameplay doesnt look that good, levels look linear and story seems a bit cliche' and a basic copy off LOZ:TP. dont get me wrong im not trying to rip off Super paper mario i believe it is a dam good game but i just dont understand what makes it so good.

So can anyone whos played the game tell me why it is as good as it is said to be and if youve played the Godfather as well tell me why i should get Super paper mario over it.

any help is greatly appreciated

Tough choice. Why don't you rent them first? I rented Godfather and loved it, but beat the story mode in about 25 hours (theres plenty to do after that, but nothing you haven't already done). So when SPM came out last Tuesday, I bought it and just beat it last night. However there is TONS of stuff left to do. I have pixls to find, the Pit of 100 Trials, etc, etc. left to do with no end in sight. But the Godfather was good enough for me to trade Red Steel and WarioWare in for it on Sunday at Gamestop. I haven't played it since then due to Super Paper Mario, but they are both great games that are deserving of your attention. And SPM is nothing at all like a Zelda game.

so what your saying is theres not much between the two... are you hinting at the fact i should buy one now then the other later. if so which one first.

There's a ton of difference between the two games, but not in quality. They both last about the same amount of time and are fun and engaging throughout the entire game. If I had to pick one to get first, I'd say Super Paper Mario. It sounds like it may not be your cup of tea though. But Godfather is most likely to drop in price before too long, at least to 40 instead of 50. It's still really hard to say which to get first without knowing you though. Again, they're both excellent games, and if you get one, be sure to get the other soon after.

Both are really awesome games. I would go with Super Paper Mario first. It's the best game to come out this year for the Wii

I have both and in my humble opinion I think they're both definite buys... So it kind of depends what you want to play first... a really long action adventure with a TON of fun stuff to do... or a fun, artistic, clever Mario platformer adventure with lot's of funny dialogue. They're both fantastic games.

Level Design: Paper Mario does tend to be a little more linear. The Godfather gives you a little more flexibilty on how you like to play. (certain bonuses for doing a mission a certain way). They both have lots of little side quests or missions. Lasting Appeal: These games are both pretty big. You won't run out of things to do anytime soon. I think The Godfather has more gameplay time though. From what I have read I think SPM is around a 20-30 hour game. My suggestion is to definitely buy one and rent the other to see if you wanna buy it down the road. They are both really good IMO. I'd start with SPM.

I think SPM is getting really good reviews because its fun but also quite innovative and original.  It takes the classic game to a whole new level whereas the Godfather is pretty much the same old GTA type game with added motion controls and a sort of Monopoly Tycoon twist on it.  Don't get me wrong, the Godfather is a great game but if you've already played GTA, then SPM seems to be a better choice.  Also, if you're like me and play your Wii after a long hard day of work or school, SPM is easier since u don't have to go all crazy with the Wiimote and Nunchuck =D.

thats a load of BS, the wii controls make the godfather game extremely more fun than any old 'GTA clone'
