No it has not.. I played a game earlier today where the regular game speed was like the perma slow mo itemw as on.. Its even lagging on friend codes... Its really unexcusable given how simplistic the multiplayer is.. Maybe if the multiplayer system was half decent, to oh I don't know.. Had multiplayer that was comparable to 8 years ago.. But nope, its entirelly too simplistic to have a excuse.
I have had the same trouble. A LAN cable connection might reduce some of the lag. Most of the times I find that I get the worse lag in a play anybody match. Now if I play with a friend the lag is comepletely gone. If you haven't tried this then ask some people for their friends code. You will still encounter lag everynow and then, and sometimes its okay, moderate, or really bad. I believe though that the time will heal this lag problem. The server are just overloaded at this moment.

Ummm...it is not as simplistic as you may think. Fighting games like Smash Bros. take up a tremendous amount of bandwith; much more than an fps game.
