I will never buy 4 classic controllers just to play one game. SSBB is also one of the biggest Nintendo franchise so they would contradict themselves if they used another controller.

If I forgot anything, let me know. This is the best setup I could think of so any questions/suggestions will be appreciated.

If ssbb is played using the wiimote and nunchuck i will quite possibly kill myself . It is just probably that one and only ninty game that is made for the gc controller. It wont feel or be the same, as fun or as original if its played via the wiimote.

Great, thanks for stating your ignorant opinion as fact. Sakurai (maker of the game) has already stated in a roundabout fashion that SSBB will use the GC controller. Even if that wern't the case, the statement he made would not allow you to proclaim the use of the Wii remote as you're currently trying to do. I suppose given a worst case scenario, they'll tack on wii remote controls just so people like you don't start up a mob protesting the need for other controls (similar to DBZ being able to use a GC but having Wii controls still granted that worked out a lot better than SSBB would).

edit: actually bothered reading your layout so I figured I'd give you some critism on it to avoid being a troll. First off, why not switch the jump and special (B) attacks. Also, while C stick is not needed per se, it really does help. First off, it's easier if you're simply doing a smash, second, when doing arial attacks it won't affect your directional influencing and third it makes it so you can do your up smash without jumping (last point may just be due to my own bad timing).

I mean even if it were going to use wiimote/chuck, it could be made way way better than that... Tap the control stick to smash? Are you joking?

Lmao u must be a noob. Thats how we did smash in N64. Tap control stick + the A button. If we dont tap it will be only a normal attack.

I hope it uses the wiimote or the classic controller. I never had a gamecube and won't buy last generations controller to play one game.

"The Wii hardware has sockets for the GameCube controller, too. So I'll just say now that you may not want to throw away your GCN controller yet." So thats an offical statement to you?

Did I say official? I just said he stated. Now let me ask you a question, who's more likely to be credible on the issue of the development of SSBB, Sakurai or Hir0_N? And I even followed up, if you're too dense or unwilling to take his hint then you have to at least admit there's a good chance that he won't be using the Wii controls. You failed to notice some of the key words I used. You'll notice I don't say it's impossible for the Wii remote to be used. I just don't like the fact that you tout it as the truth then use some convoluted logic to try and back it up.

Also,

Smash Bros. is one of the few Wii games to maintain a standard control scheme. "I was given the task of creating Smash Bros.," explained Sakurai. "Of course, the topic becomes, how should we use the special remote controller? During the planning stages, we gave a lot of thought to this." In the end, Sakurai and his staff decided to not go too far with the controller, in particular avoiding being new just for the sake of being new, which Sakurai worried would make the game difficult to play.

So while none of these quotes outright state that the GC will be used and/or that it will be the sole controller used, any reasonable person can surmise that:

a) GC controller will most likely be used and as the primary controller

b) Even if GC is not the only controller available for use, it will be the intended controller and statements saying that the Wii remote will be used as if it were the one and only choice are completely without basis

Ok maybe the topic title was wrong but it was to get your attention. But why are people absolutely want to avoid this as an option? Yes it will probably use the GC/classic controller but would it hurt to have the Wiimote + nunchuk option? Its an option so you don't have to use it.

or.............you can make it compatible with the Gamecube controller.

And so Nintendo representatives can avoid getting death threats from angry fanboys.

Listen up. I'm not sure why so many of you are so closed-minded and think that there will only be one controller option. In all likelihood there will be different controller configurations. I am positive that the Wii remote and Nunchuck will work together to form one configuration. The classic controller will probably be another, and the Gamecube controller will be the last. Why do you think that there will only be either the Gamecube or Wii remote? Why is it one or the other to so many of you? The topic creators first post is valid and shows that even if you don't own a Gamecube controller or classic controller that it would still be possible to play Smash. Nintendo will not require people to find a Gamecube controller to play Brawl, and you can quote me on that.

A lot of stuffHir0_N
I'm not adament against it, but like you said, the title did grab my attention and even the content within seemed to indicate it as being the only option. I'm just so used to seeing this topic I just automatically argue it since it's likely to confuse those who don't know too much about the game. If there's the option to use it I don't care, as long as there's another option. If I'm not using any of the special functions on the Wii remote/nunchuk I'd rather stay away from it as there are other controllers better suited for the task imo. I noticed you mentioned pointing for selecting menus but that's a small enough function to be negligible and replaceable by the standard analog d-pad selection. tl;dr: If you had properly disclaimered your topic and/or in your first post I would've probably only commented on the layout and nothing else.

Using the remote might not be too bad, but I'd rather use the Classic controller than the GC controller.  I don't like having to use the GC controller with the Wii.  Sure, it's a great controller, but it's old, it has to be plugged into theWii.  I feel like a Luddite when I use the GC controller with the Wii.  One of the great things about the Wii is that it's wireless, I think the goal should be to have as many games as possible be wireless.  SSBB is going to be a flagship game for the Wii, it ought to be wireless.  I hope there will be more than one control option for SSBB.

I don't see why everyone hates the Classic Controller so much. Just because it's not used as much as the numchuck you think it's the root of all evil when it comes to the Wii? People going around saying "I WILL NOT buy the Classic Controller". I bet every person who said that will go back on their word when SSBB (or some other game they want) uses the Classic Controller for the main controls. Now, I do think Nintendo will use a few different ways to play SSBB. The Wiimote and Numchuck being one of them ways (Shiggy himself said he would like to see the Wiimote used in SSBB). I see the Classic Controller being the main and the GC Controller being what's at the end of the list (GC is last gen, the controllers aren't wireless, it's not "Wii". So I don't see it being the main). I think that way everyone will be happy and able to pick the way that fits them best.

I will never buy 4 classic controllers just to play one game. SSBB is also one of the biggest Nintendo franchise so they would contradict themselves if they used another controller.

If I forgot anything, let me know. This is the best setup I could think of so any questions/suggestions will be appreciated.

I can bet you anything that the Wiimote will be used. They never said it will not be used, they said GC controllers MIGHT BE AN OPTION. Get your facts straight. Nintendo would never force someone to buy extra controllers for one game, they did this with the expansion pack on the N64 but they wont repeat the same mistake..

im not saying its bad...but it wouldnt feel complete... as ive said many times...the GC controller's shoulder buttons are 'spongy' as opposed to the wiimote/nunchuck's 'clicky' feeling...so that means no 'light/weak' shielding. This may not be a big deal...but i dont want the game to not have it... also...when your less skilled friends come over...it is easier to tell them to use the C stick rather than watch them fail at attempting the control stick/A button combo... i like this because they feel they are doing strong moves and not getting totally pummeled -Zuma

God damn you guys what's with all the fighting.

Here's an idea you can switch.

My friend has DragonballZ Budokai Tencahkia 2 for Wii it gives you the option of both possibilities that's porbably going to happen for Brawl, I'm almost positive that will happen.Â
