I just made it... and btw i said it is going to use it because Im sure of it(if its not an option). Great, thanks for stating your ignorant opinion as fact. Sakurai (maker of the game) has already stated in a roundabout fashion that SSBB will use the GC controller. Even if that wern't the case, the statement he made would not allow you to proclaim the use of the Wii remote as you're currently trying to do. I suppose given a worst case scenario, they'll tack on wii remote controls just so people like you don't start up a mob protesting the need for other controls (similar to DBZ being able to use a GC but having Wii controls still granted that worked out a lot better than SSBB would). "The Wii hardware has sockets for the GameCube controller, too. So I'll just say now that you may not want to throw away your GCN controller yet." So thats an offical statement to you? Did I say official? I just said he stated. Now let me ask you a question, who's more likely to be credible on the issue of the development of SSBB, Sakurai or Hir0_N? And I even followed up, if you're too dense or unwilling to take his hint then you have to at least admit there's a good chance that he won't be using the Wii controls. You failed to notice some of the key words I used. You'll notice I don't say it's impossible for the Wii remote to be used. I just don't like the fact that you tout it as the truth then use some convoluted logic to try and back it up.Also,
Smash Bros. is one of the few Wii games to maintain a standard control scheme. "I was given the task of creating Smash Bros.," explained Sakurai. "Of course, the topic becomes, how should we use the special remote controller? During the planning stages, we gave a lot of thought to this." In the end, Sakurai and his staff decided to not go too far with the controller, in particular avoiding being new just for the sake of being new, which Sakurai worried would make the game difficult to play.
So while none of these quotes outright state that the GC will be used and/or that it will be the sole controller used, any reasonable person can surmise that:
a) GC controller will most likely be used and as the primary controller
b) Even if GC is not the only controller available for use, it will be the intended controller and statements saying that the Wii remote will be used as if it were the one and only choice are completely without basisÂ
Ok maybe the topic title was wrong but it was to get your attention. But why are people absolutely want to avoid this as an option? Yes it will probably use the GC/classic controller but would it hurt to have the Wiimote + nunchuk option? Its an option so you don't have to use it.
