so my wii doesnt ever turn off. it always goes to standby(orangish light) it only turns off(redish light) when i unplug it. is anyone elses this way? because some of my friends' turn off all the time. is this bad for it?

Not bad at all. But if you want to turn it off just go to the Wii setting's menu... go to WiiConnect24.... and then just set the option for it to just turn off. BTW... Nice Avatar/SN ;)

It won't hurt the machine since it was designed to be on 24/7 standby and recieve mails and automatic updates while you aren't playing aswell.

But as the guy above me said, go to settings ----> Wii connect 24 -----> and there is 3 options where one is the update thingy and the other is the standby i think.

Same here, got mine yesterday :D

But i decided to send a mail to myself and make it shine a dim bright blue in the room..... and i LOVE my Wii even more now :P

yea the pulsating light helps my sleep at night... its like me wii is singing me a bedtime song or protecting me when i sleep.... i love him. :P

I'd say her... Him if it had an ejecting disc tray. But yeah... I noticed the pulsating light last night when I was on the computer and I couldn't stop looking at it

you dont need to turn off wiiconnect24 from the menu to make the wii standby light turn red....all you do, is when the wii is on, instead of turning off the console with the wiimote, just physically hold down the power button on the wii till the light turns red.

Indeed. Hold down the power button for a few seconds. That's what I always do, since I don't want the console to get warm.
