star fox for the snes can be downloaded for free on emulators and played on the wii or gamecube with mods. **** paying for downloads and star fox for the wii aint happening cuz nintendo cant publish anything good right now... theyre hogging all the profits for development of the wii2 (hopefully)crossing my fingers that zelda gets pushed back to be a launch title game for the wii2 like they did with the wii(but not a backward compatible one) maybe theyll do the same with satr fox(2 big titles like that would be a great start)Bowen747x
With all due respect, you have no idea what you are talking about and just made all of that up out of thin air. The only reason that annoys me is because you may mislead people who are looking for an accurate answer to the TC's question.

Starfox, F-Zero, etc. will all come, but they can't release all their IPs within two years, especially if the Wii is so successful and will probably live for another three years. They already brought Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Fire Emblem, Mario Soccer/Party/Kart, Smash Bros., Battalion Wars, Excite Truck, Wario Land and soon Punch Out and Another Code. They won't release their last franchises so soon now...

I would have thought that they would give Star Fox a longer wait than most other games. Command on the DS and Assault on the GC weren't as well recieved as Nintendo would have liked, and in a way they almost de-valued the whole franchise. It's likely that they will put tons of effort into the next installment and attempt to bring it back into a world class status again.

Plus, Star Fox's Cartage had special hardware that makes it extra difficult to emulate. We won't see it till later.

First off, Nice avatar Yodas_Boy, personal favorite of mine. When it comes to Star Fox for the Wii, I am guessing we will see something near the end of summer, some kind of preview that will of course be available during the holiday season. As to the idea of Nintendo 'holding off' till the next new system comes out, I don't think so. I think the Wii still has some life left in it and will see another Zelda, Mario and Starfox before the big N releases a whole new system.

No Star Fox games have been talked about lately but I would expect to see them sometime on the Wii. If you want to play a Star Fox Game and have not experincce any of the Gamecube games I would check them out. Star Fox Adventures, while a major break from the franchise is very good. Rare's last game for the Cube, they went all out and it looks very good to this day.

Nintendo has plans to release a new Star Fox, just not until later this year or early next year.

I'd say sometime next year. Nintendo must bring Star Fox out this gen and it they bring it in-house and the Mario Galaxy studio works on it then it'll be a 10 for sure. :) Hopefully, the Mario Galaxy studio isn't too busy.

Probably not until 2010 especially if we don't hear anything at E3.

Not sure about you guys, but the last Star Fox game I really liked was Star Fox 64. At least for me, the rest that followed were a disappointment.

I am a huge starfox fan and I would love to see the franchise make a come back on the wii....Nintendo really has to put some effort into the next starfox game and actually make it themselves rather than having other companies develop the games for them...we saw what Nintendo can do with starfox on the N64...we need that again!

Yeah, Star Fox Adventures was different and unique but we want something like Star Fox 64. Star Fox Assault came close and gave us something similar to SF64 with group missions. If they put online in Star Fox Wii, side-stories, co-op, alternate maps, new playable characters and new weapons it'd be the game to get.

Assault was great, I don't know why people complained about it. Honestly, aside from the first game in the series, its the only one I acknowledge. 64 was essentially rubbish in my eyes, it was inexcusable to not introduce some sort of save feature by that generation. SF Adventure was Rare proving they didn't have an original bone in their body by making a Zelda clone and shoehorn a Star Fox skin onto Dinosaur Planet. Command was interesting, but was yet another sidestep and felt more like a Star Fox RTS than a true SF game.

I'd love for Nintendo to make Star Fox into their answer for the Battlefield series. The ability to fly the Arwing, pilot the Landmaster, and get on foot to switch between both while shooting like your life depended on it was incredibly fun. If anything was wrong with SF:Assault, it was the story. Keeping Tricky and Krystal in there almost made me stop playing.

tl;dr I think Assault is the direction Nintendo should move in for the series. Introduce online multiplayer to that sort of formula and

Agreed on those points. If they were to restrict the game only to the Arwings; it will be a step backwards for the series. It will be a plain dumb idea to not be able to eject from your vehicle in an effort to save yourself. How about trying to survive in a escape pod in space after loosing you Arwing? I also thing the game can benifit from more mission based style of gaming. I mean, come one, the Star Fox Team are a group of mercenaries (good mercenaries that is) and they saved their star system for years!
