Frankly, I haven't downloaded anything from VC in a while, because nothing has been appealing ... so it sounds like I don't have to do anything unusual to get Nintendo to change its mind. As one poster a while back correctly mentioned, not everything on the older consoles was a gem, so they're trying to spread things out a bit.

Also, there's the wonderful world of synergy. For example, I'd wager that we'll see the N64 Super Smash Brothers show up around the time that Brawl hits store shelves. Plus, there are also other consoles with tons of hidden gems (like Sega Master System, now available in Japan and hopefully arriving in the US soon).

Please don't think that your opinion speaks for everyone, it doesn't.

Also please don't think the way the way to cultivate a healthy environment is to control what people see is good or bad. Hitler tried that before and look what happened to him.

Taste is subjective and for each title you don't like there's many that do.

I realize nintendo is spreading things out a bit but there are currently 6 consoles on the VC with soon to be 7 (sega master system) and we are getting 1 to 2 games each week. There are thousands of games for these syatems many of which are excellent wich says that they can still spread them out and release at least one gem each or every other week.

You know that Nintendo is only in charge of the NES, SNES and N64 right?

Everyone else is up to each company

Plus as long as there's something there someone is buying them. All of these games had buyers who enjoyed them.

I don't see what the need is to be incredibly greedy that just because you don't see anything you want something is wrong.

There's nothing for you this week, accept it and move on.

I'm not comparing him to Hitler I'm saying that if you want an example of how bad an idea it is to control people just check out Hitler doing it.

It's the one example that everyone knows.

Of course I don't mean the thread creator is like Hitler lol

Sorry you feel that way. If its greedy to expect at least one AAA title here and there from at least the systems they control (NES, SNES, N64 which all 3 had many) then guilty as charged.

I haven't downloaded a VC game in a while now. I got all the games I loved on the SNES (that have showed up, that I don't still own) and tried a few N64 titles I never played (Sorry, no N64 - OoT, Paper Mario). But have not really been impressed to spend more on it for some time. But when I see something that interests me I'll get it. Every so often I'll get on the Wii Shop channel and search for the few games I really want to show up just hoping someone is monitoring the searches back at Nintendo... Who knows it if will ever help.

Aside from Jasonguy's points, I think the most important one lies in the fact that we in this forums, are but a small percentage of of Wii owners out there. Do you really think that you're going to get your message out there to every single Wii owner? yes, as Jaysonguy said, everyone has their own taste, I know my self that some of the games on the VC are some of my favorites, and I would download them if I did not already own them on cartridge format.

umm the reason they release wave after wave of crap is because that's exactly what happened back then
gmaing wasn't like it is now, where most games are of a very high quality (bar a few), back then if you found a high quality game, it's pretty likely that's what sold the whole console
sonic was originally programmed with a 15 man team! and it was highest of high budget sort of stuff!

I dont mind various games be put up at all, hell lots fo the games i like im sure other people hated. My only real complaint is that they are only releasing 2 games a week. I did a simple calculation about the amount of games (roughly 3k, more actually but lets just use this number) and that means it will take like almost 20 years to release them all (this was assuming 3 games a week too!). THe wii might last 5 years in the market and unless they plan on having a VC in their next system i doubt a vast majority of games will ever see teh light of day at all...

That is exactly what I was getting at that no one seems to understand. Im saying that if we don start getting games like Mario RPG, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Yoshi's Island, Megaman, Mojaroas Mask and many many more then we may not ever see them. Or end up waiting years at this rate(one or two games a week). I just think that atleast one AAA title a month is not asking to much.

I totally agree, like one good game every month shouldnt be hard to dig up. Given that there are troubles with getting all the things worked with publishers and missing a few months here and there isnt the end of the world either but honestly we simply need more games to come out (on all systems and yes this is simple numbers reason) orelse we will never see hardly any of the games. Are they just gonna drop them all on us at the end? What if the wii only lasts 4 years and after that the fad dies down ( i dont mean a real fad just a point to show that not all things last forever). Is it their backup plan for revenue? I dont know but im not too happy about the way the VC is going, im hoping that its going slow because of all the wii ware stuff may be...

Instead of suggesting a fruitless boycott on VC downloads you could, as an alternative gaming solution, do 1 of 2 things: 1. Play your Wii/GC games during your subjective dry spell of quality VC releases. 2. If applicable, bust out your old consoles and play the games on their native systems. I'm assuming you've played them before otherwise you wouldn't be so amped about certain titles being released/bummed about their absence. If this is not a suitable option for you, revert to option 1.

I have 20 VC games and I'm looking at 3 others games soon (Top HUnter, Blue's Journey and Landstalker). I make my researches for the games. Did you download Dynamite Headdy? Did you download Neutopia? Did you download Wonder Boy in Monster Island? If not, you are missing great games. I'm sure that out of my 20 VC I can see at least 8-9 games that no one downloaded.

People like you want the huge classics while I'm searching for these huge classics and games that I didn't play before. Make researches before saying Nintendo is putting crap on the VC because you don't know what you're talking about.

Stop downloading? but there are so many great VC games that I don't have yet!

Sure there will what some consider to be crap games, but that's just the way it goes. It was like this back when these (VC) consoles were in their prime, so it's kind of hard for it to be any different today.

We should be glad that we're getting weekly games, out of every month theres probably atleast 1 good game. Nintendo cant throw everything thats good at us right now, there working with a finite pool of games that they can release. If they just put up everthing good now, vc would be dead after a month.

They do put out at least one "AAA" title a month. In January we got 1080 Snowboarding.

In December, they put out Bubble Bobble, Pokemon Snap, and Donkey Kong 3.

November, Wrecking Crew, Mario Bros 3.

I don't see where you're going with this. They give us great games almost every time, it's just that you have to try them out first before hating on them.

Also, it's not all about you. There are a lot of older people who used to play the games that you think suck, and they love them.

It's a matter of opinion, and the VC is all about giving everyone something they remember, not just you.

I only bought super mario 64. But a lot of games that people want to be released on to VC like Final fantasy or secret of Mana (I can only think of square titles right now,but you get the point) have to be released by that company. So if you are dissatisfied send your complaints to them not nintendo. Unless of course the game you want is a nintendo game. Then send your complaints to Nintendo. But for everything else they can't really help you.

Exactly.

Just look at the popular titles section of the shop channel and then you'll see who's buying what on the VC.

plus if you quit buying games all together then they will just think you dont like the VC anymore and may not put much effort into porting games over to it... if you buy the high rated games then they will know that the high rated games are in demand.... if you want good games dont stop buying games... buy more games, just highly rated one.

Speaking of the VC, is the gifting service available already? I hope they revert back to 3 games a week or the games might not EVER come out. And some games in the 90s/early 2000s, I never got to play.....

Do you think people are downloading crummy games just for the heck of it? I'm sure 99.99% of the time someone downloads a game it's one they like, or think they'll like. Nintendo has been putting obscure games on the VC for more than a year, so they probably won't stop doing it anytime soon. It only takes a few thousand people downloading a game for Nintendo to break even, and even if they were losing money on the bulk of the VC games, as soon as they release something popular it would more than make up for it.

All those games you listed I bought and beat them...So I am going to complain that the last game I bought was Bubble Bobble and before that it was SMB3. Two games that were worth it but besides that nothing intrests me.

I guess it is a good thing because I have 5 Wii games that I still need to beat.

I'd hope people only buy games they know are good and not "classics" like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or those early Nintendo sports games (although Hockey was good.) I don't know anyone who buys Virtual Console games week after week. It would be nice if Nintendo released a lot more games at once, three a week just doesn't keep people interested. There really isn't a problem here, don't buy garbage games and if there aren't any game on the Virtual Console that you want don't download them.

I do find it odd that China Warrior was released on the Virtual Console maybe Nintendo wants bring the best and worst games for each system, that must mean Superman 64 is coming to the Virtual Console, you heard it here first.

Mate, not all games are of a 9+ caliber. Sheesh, let them release whatever they feel should be released. More games is far better than none.
