Stuck early-on w/ Final Fantasy III

Okay, well I haven't been playing FF3 for the past 4 months because of a simple obstacle: I've already used Mini for the 1st time to get into that Dwarf/Gnome/whatever they are village, and have gone into the Viking Cave thingmabobber, and exit'd. So I'm stuck; I'm at the place w/ the Giant Serpents (first-encounter) in the bay (where u ride a ship along the shore to get across) and I'm near that temple with the stoned dragon head. I've figured out how to get across the bay, but I haven't been able to get any further.

What r i supposed to do? Where r i supposed to go?

i cant really pick up where you are but have u tried entering the draon head and if you dont have enough mp to cast mini to get into the dragon head visit the inn in the viking village, also u are supposed to beat the mini dungeon in the temple before you start using the ship ok

i am stuck just after you get passed the dragon in the mountain and i am in the small world map but i cant use my mini spell because i dont have any lvl 2 magic points to cast it.... any ideas?

Sweet! I may be picking this one up then. I found it for $20, so I may take the plunge. The only turn-based game I've played is KOTOR. Is FFIII combat anything like KOTOR?
