Stuck on Legend Of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass

Here it is guys, I've come to a bit of a pickle...

I've been playing through LoZ : PH quite dandily when suddenly I get stuck in the stupidest puzzle ever lol...

I'm on the ghost ship and I've saved 3 of those 4 girl things (I say things cos I'm sure they're dolls or summat lol) I'm trying to get past a gate in the 4th girls room by pulling some levers. It says on some ancient stone tablet that I have to pull these 5 switches in a specific order... so I do it and *drumrolls*... **** all happens. Anyone have this problem or know how to solve it... ANY help is appreciated :)

On floor B3 of the Ghost Ship, you are given the code 24513. This code relates to the 5 switches that have to be pulled, which in turn removes the spikes to the room with the steel drums.

If you were to number the switches from left to right 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, then you would be correct to pull the switches in the following sequence:

At this point you would be baffled as to why it didn't work!

The code wasn't telling you which order to pull the switches in, though. Instead, it was actually telling you which order the switches were in.

From left to right, the 1st switch is number 2, the 2nd switch is number 4, the 3rd switch is number 5, the 4th switch is number 1, and the 5th switch is number 3.

Now if you were to pull them in number order, you would pull them in the following sequence, i.e. 41523:
