When I got my copy, the booklet of the Super Mario History was badly ripped on the bottom right of the second page. I know i"m going to get over it but somehow I can't feel that Nintendo rushed the packaging. Anyone else have a similar expierence? It's nothing big but I just wanted to share my thoughts on the packaging.

Sorry for the bad lighting but in person, it's pretty bad. I used photobooth on the mac.

Here's what's included

It's a decent packaging but I expected more.

Hmm...I haven't picked up my copy quite yet, so I'm not sure if I'll encounter something like that.

I've been saying for a long time that this game would be a "rip off" (pun intended).

Why is that? $10 extra to have the games in a physical copy, package, soundtrack, and book instead of downloading them. That's not that bad.

Exactly the same problem with my booklet, which is odd as everything was all sealed up. Thought maybe it caught on the inside of the case when it was closed prior to being sealed in the factory, but who knows. I'd be more disappointed if the book was better quality.

That's alright, I don't think i'll be looking at the booklet anyways. The guy just opened the fresh new box and randomly picked up a copy. So it's all good.

I see no reason why you should care, unless you're a hardcore collector who wants it to look like you just purchased it forever. I thought you meant something that made some text in the booklet unreadable or something. Not a tiiiiny little rip like that.

And this made me laugh. Sorry, but I just can't take such a tiny damage seriously.

Then you're not a collector and probably have no problem with used games too, lots of people want pristine versions of their games

I told Amazon their game was defective and had them ship me a new one the next day... all because there was a fold in the cover of the manual. :P

My book showed slight where as well on the top cover and it was brand new.

Also watched a couple un-boxings on utube and they also had this problem.

Nothing as big as your but still a little dissappointing.

No, I'm not a collector. And I said "unless you're a collector". And scratches on the disc is way worse than a tiny damage on a booklet, so I prefer new games.

I had no problem with the packaging, but I think the soundtrack was rushed. Why are half of the "songs" 5 second sound effects?

Padding. It's pretty damn lazy, especially considering the wealth of songs the could have included.

Why is everyone complaining about this game? Its a $30 anniversary Limited Edition game. $30 will buy you the original Super Mario All-Stars cart for SNES. They kept the original songs and included sound effects for the fans to have fun with.

Because these are the exact same games that have been released over and over again through the years. They are currently on virtual console so the argument that "newer gamers who didn't get to experience the originals now can" is invalid.

My box was a little...chipped I guess. There's marks on the outer cardboard box, only on one side. Kind of dissappointing. I haven't opened it because I'm getting it for Christmas (Shhh, it's a secret).

Yea mine had a few dings and scuffs on it as well, I assume its from shipping since I got it at gamestop. But I'm a collector and very meticulous about my games condition, so i turned back around as soon as I bought it and said "this ain't gonna cut it, bring me another", So i got a better conditioned one after that. Admittedly I've done that before since gamestop has the bad habit of thinking ill want the game off the shelf in a sleeve already opened, that's something I cant stand and wont settle for.

Ditto!!!...hence why I buy (wanted most) on release day, so they don't get the chance to take it out of packaging then re put it back.

I'm pretty sure this is the first rerelease of the graphically enhanced versions. However, I agree they could and should have done more with it.

Though I guess you could say All-Stars had already been rereleased if you count the Super Mario World combo version that came out for the SNES. That is technically a rerelease. Then theirs also all the GBA ports, those are rereleases of some of the graphically enhanced versions as well!

Wow so many ignorants on the internet these days. Dude Mario Allstars was release on the SNES only. A year later Nintendo launched a promotion for new buyers of the SNES Console. After getting a brand new SNES and sending a receipt with $35 dollars they send you a version of Mario Allstas with Mario world. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAVE RE- RELEASE MARIO ALLSTARS. Oh and ingnorant people are missing something: You can download Mario Bros. 1-3 on Virtual Console but they are the NES versions not the updated Allstars version. Each one of the for $5 plus The lost levels for $8 which equals $23 dollars.

Dude the mario world version was not a re-release. It was available on any store to get it you needed to buy a new SNES System at the time of the promotion, you needed to send a receipt and $35 dollars too.

So the Zelda collection for the GC wasn't a rerelease of Ocarina, Majorors Mask, and other old Zelda games just because you had to buy a special platinum GC to obtain it

Just because you had a special condition to obtain it doesn't change the fact its a release of a previously released game, thus a rerelease!

Picked this up this afternoon and love it. I had the same issue with the booklet as well as the instruction manual. Minute defects. A little disappointed but not to the extent that I wanted to exchange it. I wish there were a few more tunes on the CD but otherwise this package seems like a tribute to old school Nintendo fans who have been there since the beginning. I played each of these games on the original Nintendo when they were released when I was a kid and now I am getting to share them with my son. Awesomeness. Salute Nintendo.
