I'm up to 46 stars, and the game is just too easy. I'm bored to tears while playing it. It only takes me a few minutes to get a star, with founding out how to get it/where it is and actually getting it is almost handed to you.

That, and the repetitiveness. So far there hasn't been any large worlds, just pockets of land that you jump to and from for the most part. Everything is so small.

I don't know, I'm just getting bored.

it gets harder once you get passed 60 stars. and if you think about it... the levels arent really any different than any other mario game in that they all relatively short.

You've passed much of the "cake" 25%, and are in the "not easy, but not hard" 50%. You'll enjoy the "biting your Wiimote" 25% when you get to it.

Although he is the minority, I do feel a bit the same. I have gotten all 120 and restarted, and the replay value really is pretty low. Once you've seen it all once, it loses all of its intrigue. Of course I'll finish it, but I'm not sure I'm gonna pick it up later on.

You aren't alone. The difficulty didn't really both me, because after I got farther some of the last 30 stars can be a little frustrating. It's probably the most creative game I've ever played, with great graphics, and a great soundtrack. The problem is I just didn't really think it was much fun. I noticed the repetitiveness of it very quickly, and I think they really should have done a better job with the suits.

You don't even have half the stars available and call it easy? lol.. Try getting the harder ones. I think the game is great because it's not too hard for casual gamers, and adds a challenge for the hardcore players for collecting 120 stars.

I can totally see where you're coming from.

Some of the levels really are very easy (especially while collecting the first half of the stars), and the surfing/ball/bubble levels could've been WAY longer.

However, I truly do love this game. The creativity in level design is just really facinating to see, though I can see why people wouldn't appreaciate a second play through. I also love the tight controls; they just make the game really fun to play.

Oh, and once you get up to about 85-90 stars, the difficultly ramps up HEAVILY. Some of the levels can be frustrating as HELL. But to each their own. I hope this doesn't turn you off Mario in the future; there's a lot of love that goes into these games.

If the TC reads any of these posts he should know by now to get the last half of the stars before posting again... but yest, after you beat it, try getting them as luigi, makes the game harder.

I agree, Galaxy disappointed me. It's fun, yeah, but so was Sunshine. It is better than Sunshine, but not leaps and bounds. This was the make or break game for the Wii, for me anyhow. I loved Twilight Princess, but it was just as good on the Gamecube. Take away that game and there are a bunch of good games. I want great games. This is my last hurrah with Nintendo. I think I may have outgrown it. Minutes ago I boxed up the Wii to sell it. I'm moving onto something else. Goodbye Nintendo. The last 20 years were fun, but that's all in the past.

70+ stars get so hard you die 5-10 times a star.

this 1 stage made me so mad I was going to go berserk, it was the star in the lava place and

you only have 1 HP, and if you die you have to start all over again

Collecting stars has always been repetitive... ever since super Mario 64. But super Mario galaxy is just so much fun that I don't even care. It's just fun to screw around. Jumping around the smaller planets never gets old. Hopefully Nintendo ditches the damn "collect stars to progress through the game" mechanic in the next Mario game. What ever happened to playing through levels because we had to to get to the boss at the end of the world???? That's what made Mario games so fresh and exciting in the past...Each level was different and each was more challenging than the last. But Galaxy is a huge step in the right direction... I was never bored while playing galaxy.

This is just an honest question to get you (and others) thinking. If you're disappointed, that means you were expecting something better. So what would the game have to be like for you to be satisfied? What should've been added? Omitted?

That actually is absolutely true ^ Although I was in love with the game from the outset I also was finding the stars at a rapid pace. I'm now at 98 and they're very hard find. They are coming few and far between and the challenge has been significantly upped since I was at about 65 or so. Hopefully you at least play through it a little bit more before you finally decide to ditch it. I think you'll be happy. If not...then lay off the meth :D

I'll third this. It probably took me about 10 tries to finally get passed it. I was having a hard time until I started firing stars-bits at the fire-guys. Through most of the game I've rarely used the star-bits because there really wasn't a need. I just happened to try using it and the level became much easier. It's definately the hardest daredevil star.

Although, I will say it's a fun challenge unlike the ray-surfing levels.

that lava level (with daredevil comet) was one of the few hard ones, but i have to agree with the OP.

i have 113 stars atm and a younger sister not far behind with 101 stars. if she could catch up to me that fast, it says something about the game difficulty. the eye candy on the other hand, is exceptional

But you could say the same about any one-player game.

Star Bits seem like a cheap attempt to include wii remote funtionality. Bring back more coins and drop the star bits. Make fire flower not a time-based special, but more like the bee-suit (damage-based) and use the wii pointer to direct fire ball shots instead of the spin attack. More puzzle elements would definitely help.

1) When you miss a platform and fall in the hole next to it, you should fall in the hole and not hover there for a split second.

2) This one is just me, and most people disagree, but I really liked the difficulty of the wall jump in Mario 64. You didn't stick to the walls, and it actually depended on skill.

3) They should choose from either Star Bits or Coins, not both. The star bits serve a purpose (Feeding Lumas, shooting enemies, 1-ups, etc.), but the coins served no value. If the Star Bits give you a life, then why even have the coins? I know that they give you a piece of health, but why can't they serve another purpose? Maybe they could be used to purchace a new, small planet or something. Or maybe achievement points. Anything would've been nice. I just found myself ignoring the coins in the game, unless I needed a piece of health.

4) Checkpoints throughout the levels actually bothered me. I would like it if there were an option to turn checkpoints on or off. That would be cool, because I like the satisfaction of beating a level fully, in 1 run. Again, that's just me, but I'm sure there are some die-hard fans who would've liked that.

5) Maybe some sort of difficulty setting. I really liked the Daredevil Comet levels, but there weren't many of them. It would be cool if there were an option to change how fast the enemies go, how much time you have to beat a level, or how much health you have for the whole game. Even 2 pieces of health would change it dramatically.

6) More levels that involve climbing high up to the top, like a giant mountain or something. Something where when you fall, you fall a long way. Mario 64, and even Sunshine, had a lot of those types of things.

Other than that, I really liked the game. Don't misunderstand my post, I love the game and I think it's great. These are just some things that I would like to see. Overall, the game has a lot more good than bad. A lot. But it did leave me hanging, just a little.

Although I haven't played Galaxy, yet. I agree getting stars to finish a level is something I can do without. Also, The bosses in SMB3 were creative and fun thats something that Mario64 and Sunshine missed (Sunshine really sucked).

Sidenote: I've never gotten all 120 stars in Mario64.
