No. A whole new adventure.
Galaxy was great and all but.. MARIOS A FREAKIN PLUMBER! It still astounds me that he somehow manages to be an astronaut.
-Sigil-
Hes not an astronaut, Nintendo just defies the laws of gravity.
so... are you suggesting that Nintendo should publish a game where the player is tasked with toilet maintenance?
Interesting....

not enough story for a sequel, just a new mario game... that expands on the formula made in all the previous one till now, as they have (except sunshine), even have fludd as a power up
and then adds the next inovation too, basically like galaxy did...

 I was merely suggesting a 1 planet boundary.
No, they should just kill Mario.x_SuperMario_x
they already are and very slowly. the last 2 mario games have been mud butt

I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm not sure what "mud butt" is.
But Super Mario Galaxy won Game of the Year last year, did you not know that?

no it's jus you who doesn't know what mud butt is.
and yea I know it won game of the year last year on a bunch of sites but to me it was garbage. the game was horribly boring and i found myself trading it in after 4 weeks of purchase.

I'll try to keep up on my lingo.
And stop trying to pass your opinion off as fact. You're the only person that thought SMG was boring, and most people enjoyed Sunshine, so unless "mud butt" means something good, the last 2 Mario games haven't been "mud butt".
Debate over.
What s with all these threads about sequels to popular franchises like Mario & Zelda. I doubt either are coming out for years to come. Like Galaxy only came out 8 months ago and people are already making protests for a sequel. Zelda might have a chance though but I say not for another year or so at least.
YES!
My only complaint with SMG was that it ended too soon. The whole galaxy premise is perfect for platforming and giving the developers the excuse to throw you into several different play types for a single level. If Nintendo doesn't make a direct sequel (using the original team of course) it will be a huge oversight.
It'll make money for sure, gamers would love it, casuals would love it, it seems like the right thing to do.

Hey, remember when OoT was a huge smash? Eiji and the team used practically the same enigine and assets to create the fantastic Majora's Mask in about a years time.
The controls are down, graphics are there, all they'd have to do is design more levels for the game... 8 months should be enough time to show it off to E3.

My thoughts exactly.
They should just do Hotel Mario Wii!
OJ! Galaxy was great but they would have to come up with a new innovative way of gameplay lik they did with 64, Sunshine and Galaxy.
definately no sequel. unlike Zelda, Metroid etc. which got better as they went 3D(but thats debatable) the 3D mario games just ruined it. im not talking bout Mario kart, party, sports games im talking about the main series. 64, sunshine and galaxy all bored the $hit outta me just running around punching things and collectin stars. i miss Super Mario World, THAT GAME deserved a sequel( not yoshis island)The_Wild_Tiger
yeah i agree but they tried to bring that back in super paper mario but i didnt like that people just try to keep living hiis legacy
Screw Mario. DK needs a new adventure...toadster101
Yep, but for the last 8 years every Console DK game has been crap.
I would love a new mario game, I don't understand why we have to wait 5-7 year to get a Mario adventure, and the spin offs just suck, except Mario Kart and Mario Tennis, I hated strikers and every other spin off including the Mario party series ( ExCept the First 2 games).

Spin offs can suck, but at least it's better than no mario for 5-7 years. But you do have a point I don't understand why we have to wait that long to get another mario adventure either.
