Well, I really had my hopes up that back in the day of the Gamecube, thatSuper Mario Sunshine is the next worthy sequel to Super Mario 64, but it really wasn't all that good. The game was too repitive and shorter than SM64.

But this time, with what I read and saw at the Shigeru Miyamoto Interview, Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii might be the next worthy sequel to SM64, so what do you guys think? Will it be worthy? Or Not?

Just tell your opinions, I know that we all still haven't played the game. Super Mario Galaxy coming for the Wii this November 12, 2007. Be sure to get it!;)

SM64 was terrible, SMS was awful, so I'm not expecting much from SMG. If it's mildly enjoyable I'll be impressed.

I think it'll be like what SMW was to SMB 3. An evolution on an already awesome game, so yes, I do think it will be a worthy sequel.

SM64 was terrible, SMS was awfulmurlow12

What!? Man your gonna get flamed for that.

But not by me I'm kind, SM64 was a awesome game probably one of the best platformers I played in the last 10 years (IMO) but I think SMG will be a worthy sequel providing everyone doesn't over-hype it. The reason everyone was over killed with SM64 was cos' Mario had finally jumped to 3-D and no-one was expecting it.

With so many 3-D platformers nowadays like Ratchet & Clank etc It's hard to rate a platformer "Revolutionary" but it's gonnabe interesting to find out.

SM64 was an awsome game, after never have owned or even played a snes (still havn't played one) but i did have a NES, and still do have one.

SM3 was the best game i had played on a ninty system prior to SM64 so i am hoping SMG will have the same effect on me as SM64 did! I was a bit of a sega fan back then too... but they ruined everything with the dreamcast >_>

SM64 was a truely amazing game as said before it is probs 1 of the best platformers ever made i playd that gamefor months trying to get every star and never got bored fantastic game and with some replay value as well if you havnt played i suggest you give it a try

Yes SMS was a letdown but the game wasnt the wrost thing ever people need to cut it some slack because once u have made a game like SM64 its hard to make something equally as good as the original so to speak but yeah hopefully mario galaxy is going to be good but ive not been ettin my hopes up for a big let down but i will be gettin it at launch :)

I'm just going to pretend I didn't hear the 'Super Mario 64 was awful' comment. I had too much enjoyment with that title for someone to step in and say 'it was awful' even if it was from an 'opinion'. And Sunshine didn't suck either - it wasn't great, but it was decent.Very dissapointing when compared to Mario 64, but on its own right, it was alright. It did have impressive visuals and that chirping Nintendo charm.

As for Galaxy, my hype for it is steadily increasing. From the developer walkthroughsI'm getting this excitement in my belly of exploring worlds that I haven't experienced since Banjo Tooie. That's over 6 years!

By the trailers, SMG IS looking to be a worthy sequel, but I hope that this game isn't filled with consistent flying and busting your face through rocks. He never seems to stay on one 'planet' or 'object' for more than a minute, he keeps finding those little stars that send him flying. I hope the game has bigger worlds like in SM64. ...and it better have even more catchier music, I liked SM64's tunes.

Maroi 64 was decent but boring at times. Sunshine too but lacked good level design *cough*TheHotel*cough*

Galaxy will beat both of them easily. Combination of gravity and wiimote is killer. It's my most hype game of the year and I'm not a big fan of 3D Mario games. That game will deliver.

I wouldn't call it terrible, just highly overrated.

After Sunshine disappointed me such, I am actually skeptical about Galaxy. I bought Sunshine about 2 months after it came out, and sold it in 10 days afterwards. I am going to rent Galaxy first. Nothing can compare the 64 version. I have the DS version, and is even better than the original. I hope that Galaxy will be enjoyable, and will last for quite some.

I remember the first time I've played it (back when my analog stick still works), I was so lost that I have no idea where to go. It's just so real to me back then that I just explore every nook and cranny that I could. I definately put it in my Top Ten games that I've ever played in my childhood.
