[QUOTE="Rocky32189"]Has this been rated by the ESRB yet?GabuEx
If it has, it's not showing up on their site.
Why would the game need to be rated again if it had been rated before?[QUOTE="Rocky32189"]Has this been rated by the ESRB yet?GabuEx

yes it was rated its right there on the boxwhat a dumb question :P
its in europe and not in america because the euro is stronger and the dollar sucks = putting it in europe = Square more moneyDa_Banker
SE has gone on record claiming money or no viable sequel to be the only reason they are releasing on VC, it needs not be reiterated.
However, we should not complain, had Yamaguchi not made RPG gamers into lifeless home dwellers who live in their mother's basement, Europe would have had SMRPG 11 years ago. I'm glad Iwata did not adopt a similar trait. Now Europe finally has a few days to rub this game in our face for a change.

Why would the game need to be rated again if it had been rated before? The rating system has changed since many of the VC games came out. Also, many VC games came out before the ESRB was formed. All games on the VC (even those previously rated) must be rated again.
And no, air_wolf_cubed, it's not a dumb question. If the ESRB hasn't rated this game yet, it won't come out in America for a long time.
[QUOTE="Da_Banker"]its in europe and not in america because the euro is stronger and the dollar sucks = putting it in europe = nintendo more moneyKeenzach
is that why we got brawl first?
We got brawl first because Nintendo didn't know how to translate SSBB on the disc. You see...all 6 languages couldn't fit on the same disc (I'm going to blame those 300 songs being the reason), so Nintendo had to make three seperate game discs to satisfy the EU and sell the game everywhere at the same time.
Seeming how America only requires English, we lucked out in this oversight.
[QUOTE="nintendoman562"]Why would the game need to be rated again if it had been rated before?GabuEx
It was rated Kids to Adults. That rating no longer exists. :P
Oh please its the same thing as E[QUOTE="GabuEx"][QUOTE="nintendoman562"]Why would the game need to be rated again if it had been rated before?air_wolf_cubed

Oh please its the same thing as EEven if the game was rated E, it would still have to be rated again. All VC games are re-rated. If the game hasn't been rated by the ESRB yet, we won't see this game for a long long time.

Actually, the ESRB does give publishers the ability to postpone the release of a game's rating until the publisher wants it released (in order to avoid the obvious implications of a game having been rated). Not to say that that's necessarily the case here, but it's a possibility to keep in mind.
Mega Man came out in Europe a full-year before it's North American debut...
This isn't good news for North American Super Mario RPG fans.

I'm the only person with my full name :(.
Anyway, wth I want Super Mario RPG, why does Europe get it first? Isn't it normally the other way around? :P.

Us people in PAL regions could only play the game using a Game Saver device to play NTSC games. Plus we get charged 900 points to download the game.

That could possibly be the case. I've been looking online and I guess the ESRB had rated it but then it was later taken down (possibly at the request of Square). I definately wouldn't expect a Monday release though...
I downloaded it the second it came on. I've been playing till 4 am :P, on my Famicom SNES controller too lol :P
DoReMi Fantasy and Dig Dug are on their way also. The first is one of the best SNES platformers never to have been released in the west officially. It's already been on the US VC for a while. Dig Dug is awesome, I have many fond memories of that game, I loved it at the time so it's a essential purchase.
Don't forget that the US got the original game and Europe didn't.
Of course, that means when it's finally released on the American VC it will probably be cheaper. I guess 100 points isn't too much.....
Damnit! Why does Europe get all the good stuff? They even have vectorman on Genesis! :evil:skullboy950
You can't be serious? I live in America and am greatful that we get almost everything before europe. I feel bad for Europe, they get screwed out of everything either by not getting the game at all or they get it months later (ie- Brawl). So if they get a few games first then so be it, we will get it here in America eventually.

Possible reasons it isn't coming to the US: 1. chocolate makes a good case. They are releasing it to the local that never got to play it originally. or 2. Weak dollar. Might as well wait for that to go up before you release a game someone would actually buy on the VC. With nintendo it's all about the money, which is ok they are a business afterall. But no customer wants to know they keep getting taken. Where is the loyalty? Nintendo is really messing up on the whole loyalty bit. Of course they probably felt the same way about us last gen...raahsnavj
I think I have more VC games than you.

I'm pretty sure you do. Congrats. Yup, that's what happened. It was up and then taken down about when Earthbound was rated. Here's the link. They don't mention that SMRPG went down in the actual link, but i remember them saying that it was taken down.
If we do not get this Monday or the following Monday, I quit.toadster101
I wouldn't expect it that soon. Hudson has confirmed Ys Book for Monday. Would Nintendo release two good games in one week? Probably not.
Also, the fact that the rating was taken down off the ESRB website give me an uneasy feeling.
