I loved it, but I haven't played the first two. My friend doesn't like it at all and he played the first one. It is very different from the rest as it is a spin off and not like the other paper mario games, This aside I love the game and hope they do the suggested expansion disc thing that was talked about on the nintendo email survery thing if you bought the game and registered it. kidrock17xp
please, elaborate.
i loved it, but i liked the old styled Paper Marios more, but this was still great -- it actually made me laugh
This aside I love the game and hope they do the suggested expansion disc thing that was talked about on the nintendo email survery thing if you bought the game and registered it. kidrock17xp
What expansion disc? I registered it but noever got that survey. :|
[QUOTE="kidrock17xp"] This aside I love the game and hope they do the suggested expansion disc thing that was talked about on the nintendo email survery thing if you bought the game and registered it. LOLhahaDEAD
What expansion disc? I registered it but noever got that survey. :|
one of the questions on the survey was something like, if they put out another disc (I just say expansion i'm not sure what htey meant) but something to continue the game so to speak, for a reasonable price would you purchase it. Something like that, it was on GoNintendo around the time the game came out as well. Not sure how far back their archives go.
the replay value is low .... and you get too powerfull, too fast and too easily ...
so it does get a little boring once the challenge is gone

agreed there wasn't really a challenge at all for me, but I enjoyed the story so that kept me liking it
Things I liked about the game:
1) It was hilarious
2) It kept me entertained
3) It brought me back to the old, sidescrolling days (which I loved)
4) It was a unique game, with the 2-D to 3-D concept
5) The ending was great
Things I didn't like about the game:
1) It was too short
2) I prefered the RPG fighting a little more from the other games (though it did get repetitive by the end of the other 2)
3) The amount of writing was excessive. In the other two, the writing was just as lengthy, but the fact that they were actual RPG's helped move the story along a little better
4) Because of the fact that they had to implement 2-D and 3-D into the game, both of the dementions were left a little empty
Overall, I felt that the game was great, but there were things missing from it that could have made it better. Honestly, I was expecting more. I preferred the other 2 Paper Mario games, but it's still a quality game and I can't wait for the next installment.
I'm nearing the end of Ch. 5 and I'm not a big fan. Everything works as intended, it has a fun story, the best looking game on the Wii because it's so colorful, but it doesn't have any staying power. I play it in short bursts and I seem to only be motivated because the story is so enjoyable.
My issue? It's the gameplay; the game is not much of a platformer or a RPG. The platformer elements just simply aren't there. It just doesn't play like a Mario platformer or any platformer really. You run around but you don't have to make difficult jumps; the game is more of an adventure game. You talk to some NPC and thus you run and jump and press a button here and there and then you're done. Even then, the puzzles aren't even remotely difficult; the game seems to be designed for children. As for the RPG elements, they're really really basic. HP and that's about it.
In the end, you have a simple adventure game with excruciatingly easy puzzles. There's a lot of potential in a platformer/rpg hybrid, it's just that this one missed the mark. Next time, I hope it's more like Super Mario World with RPG elements rather than a Mario version of Putt-Putt Saves the Moon. Actually the more I think about it, it's like a version of Mario is Missing in which there is a possibility of death.
