Super Smash Bros 3DS or 3 Amiibo?

I have a New 3DS (Red!!!) preordered. I have plenty of 3DS games,but with a new system you want new games. So I also preordered Majora's Mask and bought Alpha Sapphire. Now I either want to get Smash Bros 3DS or buy 3 Amiibo (Can't just have one!). I want Smash Bros 3DS to use my 3DS as a controller on my Wii U. Should I get Amiibo instead of this (They are very available where I live so I won't have a problem getting them)? Is it worth getting both versions, why or why not? If I should get Amiibo which ones (I want ones that will be most compatible with other games).

Oh the game in a heartbeat. I don't know what you could do with the Amiibo except stare at them. :P

I might say the amiibo just because they'll be harder to find in the future, but you can't go wrong in Smash Bros. for 3DS. For amiibo you might want to look at:

Kirby for use in Mario Kart 8, Smash 4, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Link for use in Mario Kart, Smash 4, and Zelda U

Ike for use in Smash Bros, Project S.T.E.A.M.

Shulk for use in Smash Bros. and Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (April 10th in North America)

Toad for use in Mario Party 10, Captain Toad

Wait a minute, 3 amiibo are nearly the same price as a 3ds game?

i wouldnt recommend either, i highly doubt urll play both versions of ssb and unless u really want mewtwo id say get one or the other. and i wouldnt recommend get 3 amiibos cause their stupid cash grabs.

buy another game altogether, i recommend monster hunter 4 ultimate, but thats just me.

The Amiibos are for collectors and toy enthusiast. All their content can be unlocked by just playing the game. But dont get me wrong, i love them. They are great to sit in office at work, or computer desk while chatting and gaming with friends to show off. They stand by themselves, colors are awesome, and detail is best ive ever seen from Nintendo. I place few of mine on my Skylanders Wii U portal to show off while playing or using the console.

I bought mine to get my favorite skin for racing online so i wouldnt have to unlock. Buy them for fun, if toy figures that unlock skins and stuff without having to unlock during game is not fun for you, then i wouldnt recommend them.

Always buy the toys!

ah, its seems you are right. i have been misinformed about it. thanks for correcting me.

It depends on the 3 Amiibo. If any of the 3 are Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Marth, Little Mac, Pit or Captain Falcon then my choice would be the Amiibo. If it were 3 commons then I would choose the game.

Luckily I didn't have to choose. I have every Amiibo released stateside so far AND Smash Bros 3DS and Wii U so I'm not really biased either way. Foolish with my money? Maybe.........

@i-rock-socks: I think that I might agree with you now... I'll probably only play the Wii u version, and Amiibo are a little limitee on what they can do in Smash and They can only have one save data of a game at a time

Indeed they are. They are also uglier and smaller than the price suggests.

You already have Smash on Wii U? Then forget the 3DS version. I own both Smash Wii U and 3DS, and the 3DS version is just inferior and collecting dust. You may as well get the Amiibo, they'll at least look nice while collecting dust.

I'm not a big fan of Super Smasf for the 3DS so I'd go with the amiibo. But that's because I'd addicted to those mofos. I just got Shulk today. He's awesome.

Me too! What are your plans for Sonic, Mega Man and King Dedede? Did you get pre-orders?

I will probably be standing outside of a Toys R Us in 15 degree weather with my fingers crossed. It has worked for me to this point.

I would choose Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. It is the better value.

I love Amibos but I'd definitely get a game over them anytime.

I have them all preordered at Gamestop and Bestbuy. So as long as one of those stores comes through I'll be good haha. Good luck in that weather...

I made my final decision :p I'm going to spend a little bit more money to get the game and 2 amiibo (Kirby and Link) I'll buy them at target right after I get my preordered new 3ds :)
