[QUOTE="the_wet_mop"]is this a rite of passage now or something? everyone has to make a thread about this? ill give the same response i've given eveyrone else who has posed this quesion: its a bad idea. 1) smash brothers is a complex game. it uses more buttons the the DS has, and makes use of the tilt function which the DS has no way of replicating. 2) and much more important, smash brothers is a multiplayer game, and isnt well suited for a handheld, which are almost always played solo. its one thing to have 3 friends over for some Brawl, its another thing entirely to find three other people who own a DS, have purchased the game, and are all free at the same time. the real fun in smash brothers is playing it with others, and i just dont see this happening frequently.
riariases
1) The DS has enough controls for sure. Think of it. The Wii Controller(no attachments) itself is adept in controlling Super Smash Bro's Brawl while it only has the buttons 1, 2, +, -, B, A and a directional pad(excluding the home button), and the DS has A, B, X, Y, L, R, Start, Select, a directional pad and a touch screen which can be used for multiple things, and also the DSi uses tilt control with its camera in WarioWare: Snapped, not to mention i've never used tilt control in Brawl(didn't even know it existed in it). 2) Just like the Wii, the DS uses Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, so its not so hard to find someone to play with. And also a lot of people have DS's, considering over 100 million of them have been sold in its lifetime so its not that hard to find someone with a DS and convince them to get the same game as you.by tilt control i didn't mean the ability to tilt the system, but to have tilt moves. in smash bros theres a neutral A attack, Smash A, and tilt, which is where the control stick is pressed in one direction, but not all the way.
you would think that with all the DS owners this would happen, but in my experience it doesnt. take mario kart for example (which has much better single player potential than smash bros). i know lots of people that have DSs, but in all the years i've had it, only once have i played with a full group of 4 people. now lets look at mario kart wii: i know NO ONE else that owns it, but i play with people in my dorm roughly once a week. multiplayer with the DS is a nice idea, but it just doesnt happen often for me at all. if i bought smash bros DS, i would only play brawl with other people, which is the only time i enjoy smash bros.
