I've been playing multiplayer super swing golf. I Noticed that if player 1 picks a character and and player 2 picks the same character and both players have the exact same equipment on, player 1's power gauge is always higher then player 2's power gauge.

for example 1st and 2nd players both choose Max, I'll go in and check the stats in the "my room" area and the stats match, They are both wearing the same Equipment. After checking the stats and Equipment, I start the game and 1st players power gauge shows a distance of 258 (with a 1W club) and 2nd players power gauge shows a distance of 252(with a 1W club). I've tried it with human players and computer players and the result is always the same.

Does anyone else havethis problem?

Does anyone know why 1st player is given this advantage??

Thanks!!

I rented the game, and then returned it before it was due back because I couldn't make any of the players left handed and the swing mechanics suck.

I reccomend returning that game if you've only owned it for a short time.

He's already played it, and 90% odds are that he's not left-handed. Do you go into every topic about a game you don't like and say "return it, it sucks"? To the topic creator, it might be worth also trying the Super Swing Golf Board.

all in all i'm satisfied with the game i just wantthe multiplayer to be a fair match when i'm playing against friends and with the issue i'm having its not really fair when i can be on the green of a par 5 in1 or 2 swings and everyone else it takes atleast 3 since i'm getting extra yardage on every shot

but i'd have to agree about the mechanics it took me about a week to figure out the what they thought was the right way to swing but now i have about a 80-90% perfect swing ratio, as for left handed i know they have a left handed setting but the character still stand on the same side of the ball, even so it still calibrates the swing for a left handed person

I just don't know why they didn't bother to make each character ambidextrous, like every other golf game I ever played.

Because that would require more animating then was necessary. Also they would have had to program the physics into it as well.

Just more economical to have the players swing with their right hand.

As for the power gauge question likely it doesn't have any effect. I played a multiplayer match with someone new to the game and they floored me and that was just bad luck on my part.

It is a simple mirroring. You act as though mapping a golf swing animation to the right side of the ball would be close to impossible. And all they would have to do is mirror the affect of a hook or slice.

It's a god-damn golf game made in 2007. It's not hard to have ambidextrous characters.

pssst, just so you know, you can switch the handedness in the options menu, as well as the button only option. so if you dont like the swing mechanics there is that, the players can be right or left handed, and the control mechanics are finicky maybe, but they dont suck. Theyre just not easy.

I know you can switch your hand, but your characterstill doesn't appear on the proper side of the ball. Every Mario Golf game had this feature, and you can set which hand a golfer uses when you create one in Tiger Woods. It's inexcusible not to have it. There are reasons this game got a 6.

If it isn't hard explain why 99.999 do not allow you to change the character's hands that hold things such as a sword or shield. It isn't a simple mirroring if it was then every game would be able to do it wouldn't it?

Okay i've Figured it out and it seems to be a programming error

It turns out that when you go up in Rank (ie amatuer to rookie) you have that ability to buy an extra power point(which is worth 2 yds)in your stats for each playe and these points specifically count towards 1st player even in multiplayer

I ended up saving my game toSD and starting a new one.. then i went through scout first festival without upgrading anything at all so i had 0 points to add to my power till i went up in rank which gave me a +1 i could buy for power. Before buying it i went into multiplayerpicked scout(unmodified) for both players both were wearing the sameequipment and had the same stats. In game they both shot 236 so its even, soI exit out. Now i go and buy that extra power point i got from going up in rank(okay heres where it might get alittle confusing). I go back into multiplayer again and pick Scout for both players and go check out his equipment and stats, both players have all the same equipment and clothes and their stats bothshow that i bought an extra power point, however when you start the game 1st player now shoots 238(which includes the +1 i bought because its worth 2 yds) and 2nd player still shoots 236 (which means 2nd playerdid not get the bonus point from going up inRank even though the stats show the bonus as there.

now this might not mean much if you go up one or two ranks, but say you go up9 or10 ranks and nowbothplayers pick thesame person and the same equipmentat this point 1st player will be able to shoot 18-20 yds longer then 2nd player just from going up in rank

Now that a serious advantage on some courses

Upon further testing 1st players advantage can be anywhere from 4 to16 when both players select different characters because some characters stats are different. which is not so bad

Also an easy way to fix this now that the problem is known is to take a show power points back off of first player wich can be done in the customize area of (my room)

Okay i think that about covers it. So Keep In Mind 1st Player and Only1st player get the bonus for going up in rank even in Multiplayer and even though the stats show it for all players.

I'm talking about Golf, not video games in general. EveryGOLFvideo gameI have ever playedhas this feature. Every single one. There is no excuse for omitting ambidexterity as a feature from a golf game.

And video games other than golf games have more to the characters' animations than holding a club and swinging it. I don't know why anyone would want to make excuses for a video game maker when a video game maker makes a crappy game. A golf game adapted from an MMO should have the simple ability to choose what hand your character swings with.
