Hey guys! Do any of you remember the GCN titles Mario 128 and Kirby Stack Up If you don't thats because they were never released. They just disapeered. But what if...they were changed to wii ware titles. I think that is the case with kirby but probably not mario.

Your thoughts?

Good question. I always thought Mario 128 turned into Galaxy, but I am not 100% about that. It could very well be Pikmin.

Well

"In the July 2006 issue of GamesMaster, a short interview with Miyamoto at E3 2006 reveals that Super Mario Galaxy is not necessarily Super Mario 128.

GAMESMASTER:What inspired Super Mario Galaxy and what does it mean for Mario 128?

MIYAMOTO:Well, Mario 128 was a collection of different experiments. Super Mario Galaxy takes a lot of the experiments from Mario 128 and implements them in the game. Because of that it's partly 128 but there are also elements that existed in Mario 128. I don't know when we'll be able to bring those out.

In issue three of the Swedish gaming-magazine Level, Miyamoto answers a question about Mario 128:

LEVEL:During the years it has been rumored about a Super Mario-game that then just disappeared. A sequel to Super Mario 64 was supposedly under development, like a three-dimensional game for the Super NES, and during the whole Gamecube-era Super Mario 128 have been mentioned. What have happened to these games? Have they been only rumors? Is Super Mario Galaxy actually Super Mario 128?

MIYAMOTO: Super Mario 128 is just one of the many experiments we have had. Suddenly everyone started to talk about it."

mario 128 was a tech demo for the GC, it was of 128 little marios all fighting eachother on a circular board showing off impressive amount of enemies and AI's all with physics running at the same time it was then modified into 128 little mario's being thrown, at enemies like pikmin... then finally ended up as pikmin

Yeah, that Gamemaster article looks familiar. That must've been where I had the idea from.
