So I downloaded and launched swap note. It asked me if I wanted to allow spotpass and I said yes. Now its trying to take me through some parent/gaurdian process. Im 31 years old. What the hell? It wants me to put in my parents name and looks like I have to do some kind of email confirmation. Is there anyway around this or is this required?
Strange, the only thing it asked me was for my birthday, did you put that in correctly? If you put that in wrong, the year mostly, then you probably are "underage".So I downloaded and launched swap note. It asked me if I wanted to allow spotpass and I said yes. Nevermind I got the coin features, it took a while to present the message though, I guess because I copied the sounds to the system memory but... I dont really know.Z3KR0MI'll try moving a sound to that. The manual says it unlocks sound messaging only through play coins, but maybe I don't have enough. I only have 5 coins....

Oops...nevermind. I wasnt connected to the internet when I first did it, so it reset my birthday to the default of todays date. I did it again and it worked just fine. Thanks.

Cool, glad to hear that lol. I would have probably freaked the same, going "WTH!?" :P Now that we have Swap Note, is it bad to say I want there to be a video chat application? Or maybe SN can be integrated into the system soon... Also it says you can send text messages, is this true? Anyone unlock that yet? I still don't have sounds... and I've been spamming my friends  but nothing else has unlocked since I got the 3D pen and stationary changes (only a small amount, it says I can unlock more via Play Coins too...)Yeah, but play coins are free, just walk around with your 3DS and you'll have it soon I'm sure. Since the max is 10 per day, I'll assume Nintendo won't make you pay that much to buy it. They also said Play Coins can be used to purchase new stationary. I get they want you to come back with this "game" or "app" but hey... it should unlock more quickly, or be there from the get go. It's a bit dumb some features aren't there yet... I wouldn't mind unlocking more designs with Play Coins, but voice message feature, and even time stamping messages aren't available right away, nor is the 3D pen feature. I wonder if they'll give us color pens to use later on too...Are you f*****g kidding me? You need to pay to unlock the voice messagges?

How much is it?
Um, it's 15, told you this devours coins.Dang, that's a lot! I have 5 coins, if I can get my 10 today, then I can unlock it... time to go walking! Or if you're lazy like me... start shakin'.[QUOTE="yoshi_64"][QUOTE="lancea34"] 15.lancea34

Hey, guy's gotta make a living/gaming.Dang, that's a lot! I have 5 coins, if I can get my 10 today, then I can unlock it... time to go walking! Or if you're lazy like me... start shakin'. I always take it to work with me, where I also get tons of StreetPasses from it. So I don't need to be lazy :P Working at an amusement park, and having a job that makes you walk around almost every minute you're not on break adds up. I wish the Play Coins cap wasn't at 10 coins a day... :( I'd be rich... legally. :P[QUOTE="yoshi_64"][QUOTE="lancea34"] 15.lancea34
I downloaded the app and then went out for a few hours. When I came back I had 25 notes waiting. Most of them were really good and some friends have already unlocked voice and picture modes as well as some sweet looking animated backgrounds. This is already my favorite app xD
The limitation on ink is to prevent files from becoming too large. It's understandable, but I usually seem to have enough ink. Then again I don't draw often lol. I think it's to keep in mind that if the user ended up using all ink, sending a picture, AND adding voice, it would make the file too large to send and make it probably not efficient enough for Nintendo's service. It does send messages and receive them pretty quick, so I do like.I dislike the ink meter.

That makes sense. I guess I'll just have to attach a Game Note photo if I want to include a very detailed and colorful drawing. :P
Can you use Swapnote to message your friends? How do you message people with Streetpass, I thought Streetpass is just used to find strangers you walk by?rubber-chicken
You can message anyone on your friends list, send pictures, video clips and sound clips (as long as they have also downloaded the app).
Yes, Streetpass is used for the people you find by walking by them and by setting a message on Streetpass they will also get that along with what ever else you have set on for Streetpass.
Now to go down the stairs, and walk on the spot like a retard....
But seriously, why 15? That's like, two days of coins if you have none from the start. And 5 for each of the extra stationeries (backgrounds), but I guess you only really need the christmas ones for now. (received like 23 Merry X-Mas messages and only sent out 1, to everyone on my list)
I don't think I will be using it if I have to unlock features with coins, I never take my 3DS places
I just got to unlock my Voice Recording today. I don't know how come it took so long to get this unlock ability, I had the coins, but I wrote a message, didn't send it, and saved it instead, and Nikki wrote that I could finally unlock things. This must have been around my 5 or 7th message I think. Also I got 12 notes this morning when I woke up lol. I'm a bit disappointed it's only 5 seconds of voice message, when you can record up to 10 with the 3DS's Sound application. I also wish that you could just do the voice recording from the Swapnote app without having to go back and fro. I can take a quick pick while it's in suspend mode, so there's no need to worry about sending a quick pick, but sound should let you make it from the system. I also hope they can expand the voice message to beyond 5 seconds and make it 10 seconds, that would be great. Other than that, I love this app. :) yoshi_64The sound recorder was my only disappointment in the app so far, not what I was expecting. It's also so short at 5 secs, but I guess it has to do with file size? Maybe in future updates it gets better? Other than that I'm really liking it, some of the messages have been awesome. I got about 70 when I checked at noon, the interesting thing is it only loads 20 at a time.
