This is a great topic to start out with, one which is now appropiate.
"Most people are saying thatsome next gen games like RE5will never come to Wii because it can't handle it. Well guess what, the Wii has just below the power of the 360. Allow me to explain. From what I read on the internet, there is a reason Wii games look bad. The graphics card of a normal PC contains programs called shaders. These shaders are built in on the graphics card on the 360 and PS3 as well, but are not present on the Wii's graphics card. Shaders control some of the Next Gen effects seen in most games such as lignting, reflection, etc. Since they are built in on 360 and PS3 and PC, there is less work to do. For Wii, however, Shader programs have to be put into the game itself, so it requires more work that most developers are too lazy to program. If the developers took the time to program shaders, then they will obtain games with 360 like graphics. There is one developer that managed to do this, it has been called the Quantum 3 Engine. The result, a game that looks like it belongs on the 360."
Discuss, and no putting down the Wii saying it is a Gamecube with a new controller.
