The first one looked fine, and these(except for the last) are better.
Anyways its the gameplay and story that made the first amazing.
Tales games never really have a significant upgrade from the first batch of screens and the final batch.
Early:
Late:
The first image is pretty low quality since there weren't any "real" screen released during the early stages of the game, but you can tell by them (and if you watch the first trailer) that there weren't any massive changes.
One thing that I'm annoyed about is that they decided to remove the overworld for a point and click map. Hopefully the gameplay will still manage to be entertaining. There's supposed to be a new monster taming feature in the game but thankfully, that isn't what the game isn't focused on. The only other hope I have is for the story not to be as cliche as in Symphonia...which was pretty much a rip off of Phantasia...which was an awesome game.
Looks fine to me... Plus, early builds don't equal the final game. As long as the art style is the same as the first it should be good.spencer_723The art style will probably loosely follow the first one. The tales team seems to be confused with which direction to go. They have the beautiful painting like backgrounds similar to the first game but for some reason they seem to insist on going with polygonal 3d character models like in Tales of Abyss instead of the chubby-ish looking little fellers from Tales of Symphona.
Is a work in progress, they aren't finished. You can't judge it yet. SuperMario_46
Most games shown before release don't looktoo different once it comes out. Except for MP3 of course--but that's a bigger project than a Tales game. Tales of Symphonia was awesome to play and progress through, but the graphics were horrible even for it's time. I tolerated the poor presentation then (becasue the Cube was starving for RPGs), but I can't tolerate it this time around. Call me a graphics whore and say that gameplay is more important all you want, but Nintendo and Namcoare cheating Wii owners. They might as well release this also on the DS. This is an unacceptable way of cashing in on two titles at once. The more people support crap like this...the more these companies will do this.
The first pic looks like Luin, and it looks better than the GC SymphoniaOllivanderThat's also a statue of Lloyd in the fountain.
[QUOTE="nintendofreak_2"]It still looks better than the first one.Sonick54

I fail to see the :| in my statement.I can say it looks better because it does. I don't think I need to explain myself.Compare these to the first. You can't possibly tell me THIS looks better.

Even if it is better...it still looks horrible. This game comes out in 2008. I thought that's when these Wii games are supposed to start getting better. If this game doesn't get a dramatic overhaul...I hope it never comes to the U.S.!!!
Doesn't look terrible, just looks like a gamecube game.
As long as the final product is good, I'll be in.MrBlasty
There are better looking Cube games than this!! This looks more like a DS or PS1 game...lol.
Super Mario Galaxy looks like a low end 360 game, it comes out this year. Plus saying that you hope a game doesn't get released just because you don't like the graphics is just dumb. Many people, including myself, are hyped about this game.Even if it is better...it still looks horrible. This game comes out in 2008. Is a work in progress, they aren't finished. You can't judge it yet. SuperMario_46I agree, I mean, that happens to almost all the games. That even happened with Tales of Symphonia, the work in progress screenshots look horrible but in the end, the game looked quite good! ^_^ I'm quite sure the same will happen here unless they somehow horribly mess up the game.
