Unfortunately, Im still going to buy these...but they are such a scam. You buy 2000 points for $20.00. You then get charged tax for the points (this is online...not a card). You are getting taxed on buying 'money'. How the heck can they legally do that? Convert money into credits...and get charge taxon it..WTF.

More then half the states in America don't charge tax for them so your argument falls on deaf ears for more then half the union.

Sorry about the tax

Yes, if you live in one of the 23 or 24 states that charge tax you're charged tax even when you use a credit card.

Most users don't get charged tax, it depends what state you live in.

Wii points are not a currency, they're points. It's much easier to charge tax on the money you spend on wii points than it is for Uncle same to get his portion of the wii points you trade in for a game. Get over it. I bet you're the same kid who cried over how much the flippers cost in Link to the Past.

Freedom Fries?

I don't think there's a problem with paying the exact same taxes on the VC games as you would at the game store. You're not paying any more or less taxes.

Well first off, NO, I'm not a kid. And second, are you saying its OK to charge tax on converting your cash into points? And actually, they are technically a currency. You use them to purchase items.

Your probably the child, and just don't care because mommy and daddy purchase them for you. anybody who respects money...rich or poor.. can agree that taxing points is crazy ridiculous!

For the price they charge ya, looks like they already do! lol. I can't beleive you guys buy this as acceptable...wow. More and more gets taxed...and nobody here in america argues it. They just think thats the way it has to be. Sad really.

Lock the topic, I guess nobody cares that we (at least 24 states) are getting the shaft.

I cant believe that you care so much... what is it like a buck and a half in taxes for the 2000 points? Sure I dont like paying taxes just like you but taxes are a fact of life and if your state decides to tax the points then either let it go, dont buy the points, or write your congressman.

I'm old enough to realize there are only 2 things certain in life.

1. You will die.

2. You'll pay taxes.

You don't buy the game, you trade points in for it.

My mom died when I was 9, and my dad when I was 19. I know the value of money just fine. Four years of college made certain that I'll never have to work hard for my money, but it didn't make the dollar worth less. I don't mind paying taxes because I can have faith in the fact that the money I pay will just go towards making life better for the majority, much like the taxes that put me through public school, and the state scholarship that put me through college. I am at this point competely convinced that A. You're under 18, and B. You don't actually pay for much of anything outside of your precious Wii points. Buy a car, get some insurance, and then complain about a legalally required waste of money.
