No, this isn't a topic bashing the Wii's graphics :P

It's just that I recently got a new 780p 32" tv and the Wii component cables to go along with it. When I hooked everything up, the images were pretty jaggy. Turns out this isthethird tv, second brand I've gone through. On the first two, not only were there jaggies but there was this shadowing effect. Neither the tv companies' tech support nor Nintendo's tech support have heard of this problem before.

Has anybody heard of this happening before? It was fine with my original SD tv, why is everything screwed up on the HD tv's?

You will always see the jaggies when playing the Wii in 480p no matter what TV (unless it is very small). It is because the game devs don't implicate any anti-aliasing (thing that smoothens edges in graphics) at all in Wii games so that's why every Wii game has jaggies. Hopefully in the near future we can see Wii games that have anti-aliasing...but I don't know if the Wii will be able to handle it.

 There's nothing wrong with you TV or Wii. It's called aliasing. The Wii doesn't support HD. Even most PS3 and 360 games have some aliasing (jaggies).

As long as TVs use raster graphics there will be jaggies. The bigger the TV, and the lower the resolution the easier they are to see.

First, to the TC, where did you get a 780p HDTV? That's better than the lowest resolution of HD which is 720p (I'm just messing with you). Anyway, if the TV is LCD that could be why the Jaggies are more apparent.

Aliasing has nothing to do with HD or not. N64 games could have had aliasing as well as SNES games. It depends on the power of the console and whether or not the console is powerful enough to implement AA (it's actually called anti-aliasing).
