When playing some games, Red Steel and GC Lego Star Wars, for example, my Wii keeps making these very weird sounds.
It sounds something like the title. Tek, tek tek tek......Tek Tek.....Te kTek Tek Tek
You get the picture

I wouldn't worry about it too much if it did that always, but TP and Wii Sports run as smooth as silk, I don't hear zilch from it.

It sounds like maybe the disc is scratching or "choking" in something, that's why I'm worried
Anyone know if this is normal? Has it happened to you?

Thanks

Some games make a noise and some don't, as long as you're discs ain't scratched you should be fine.

It's the inside of the Wi moving as it's reading the disk.

Not everything is in order on those disks so the head has to shoot around.

What you are hearing is the laser head moving around. Most games are pressed onto a DVD but the information is not always in the order that the game needs it in, so the head has to move around to collect hte info in a continuous stream. That moving, makes the tek sound. The beep sound is usually when the drive accepts the game as a 'real' disc.
