Survival mode

Seriously, three hearts for health, lock-on targeting, 1:1 sword play, a boss!

hmmm...

It's things like that that make me think nintendo should have made the nunchuck wireless as well. That survival mode is problably played with movement from the dpad, which will not cut it for a zelda game

Good call though tc. I think we will see something just like that in zelda. The music is even a sound-alike

It's actually the sword-fighting game in Wii Sports Resort.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next Zelda Game incorporated something along the lines of what we see in that video. The mechanics would have to be FLAWLESS though.

I'd much rather see something like this in a Star Wars game. :)

Well seeing how Miyamoto said that when you're playing certain games to think of Zelda Wii: Yes.

 that's awesome and like i said many times before, an improved/refined version of the archery and swordfight games from wii sports resort are almost confirmed (didnt say "100% sure" just because we cant ever be sure), specially now that myiamoto confirmed that you'll need WM+ to play the new zelda

I'd rather they copied Red Steel 2 for StarWars.

The video could have already told you, it's not the next Zelda. But who knows with Nintendo these days?

I think many misunderstood his point here. Could this WSR mini game be a hint of what's to expect with Zelda Wii? That's what he was saying I believe. Anywhoo, can't wait for WSR, but it's possibly that they share many similarities, and the next Zelda will have no sword though, remember? :P Well Link wasn't holding one hahaha :P

The most basic core mechanics will probably find its way into Zelda.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was Nintendo testing the waters for swordplay in the upcomping Zelda. Remember Virtua Fighter Kids? Yeah, like that. I'm sure Zelda Wii will have much more depth and epicness.

^Red Steel 2 still uses animations so its still not 1:1 during combat its just 1:1 holding the sword and of course it maps the movements to the animations better. I still expect to hear pople complaining that the game is unresponsive because they don't conform to the animations. You should prefer the next Star Wars game to be like whatever the first game is that gets 1:1 actual sword combat right, and that will probably need to be a 3rd person game.

As would I.

And didn't Miyamoto say already that the fencing mode used for Resort would be in Zelda, anyways?

Also, I agree with people that this is how a starwars game should play. Check out my blog for my M+ starwars idea. Blog

That sort of looks like a demo for zelda! Listen to the music it has zelda all over it! Although it is Wii Sports Resort, Miyamoto said something like....look at sword fighting in wii sports for Zelda and archery also...
