A sequel to Umbrella Chronicles? A zombie shooter with the resident evil mythos without the stupid puzzles & the overplayed first person shooter mechanics.

We bought Umbrella Chronicles in mass and we have been rewarded! Congrats! :D

I am already quite excited!

Amen brother!

I've been mailing them for months upon months saying that if Resident Evil comes to the Wii I want it to be on rails like Umbrella Chronicles

Thankfully they listened and Wii owners will get another awesome game

Why on earth would you prefer a UC sequel to an exclusive third-person non-remake Resident Evil?

Its cool that Capcom didn't try to develop some lame RE5 port onto the Wii. 09 is looking good for the Wii this year I can't wait to pick up one.

Because the Wii is easily outclassed in that area elsewhere

This is a genre that the Wii reigns supreme

I want the Wii used to it's strengths, not used to make poor cut rate versions

That's actually a good point, and one of the reasons I liked UC when it came out. But don't you think this genre is being overdone on the Wii now? That's how I feel anyway...

Oh yeah like RE fans wanted yet another house of the dead rip off waggle stick shoot em up. Great, thanks Capcom! I'm going to enjoy my toned down RE game immencely. They even made it easier to play than UC. Thats great! No brain power needed. I can play with my eyes closed. Now thats innovative.

With this there will be 6 quality on rail shooters?

Also they're a bit different

Ghost Squad is pure arcade while Umbrella Chronicles is most story driven (showing you through the RE universe)

The first House of the Dead release on the Wii leans more towards arcade while the second one leans more towards Umbrella Chronicles while throwing in a whole bunch of over the top silliness.

Dead Space looks to follow the Resident Evil blueprint

I don't think the market is saturated yet, I think for the market to be saturated we'll have to see either one side or the other inundated with that style of game.

I think a dev has to come up with some arcade style games soon though or that could happen

I would have preferred a Code: Veronica or RE 2 remake much more! I still look forward to Darkside Chronicles, as I enjoyed UC. Hope they won't tone it down too much.

Uh, yeah, maybe a Resident Evil is done better on other consoles. What if I don't have the other consoles? You are forgetting this simple fact...not everyone has multiple consoles.

Well, it's not that RE: DS Chronicles is bad news to me, but I've already got RE: UC, HotD 2 & 3 Return and Ghost Squad. Plus, I plan to get HotD: Overkill. Seems like the Wii is becoming a light-gun shooter fan's dream. I just think it's a bit overdone already.

Umbrella Chronicles 1&2, HoTD Xbo..Wii and Overkill, Ghost Squad, and Dead Space: Extraction are the ones I'm supposing you're referring to.

There are also Link's Crossbow Training, Onslaught, and Wild West Guns to consider. Making 9 "I'm not Target Terror" rail shooters that use the Wii remote to play.

These titles are selling, I really do not see what the fuss is about the market being saturated because even Nintendo realized how much fans wanted rail shooters by pricing Sin & Punishment at 1200 Wii points. I paid that amount gladly, because it was exactly the type of game that benefitted by the Wii's 480i upscaling and the ability to play it like a dual-joystick shooter.

I want more. These games are fun.

Also, I would like to propose a toast to the first time (I think) I have agreed with jasonguy.

lol...SEGA does support the Wii better than most companies. But please name one Sega "developed" game that has scored higher then 7.5 since the Wii's launch.

lol Jayson are you the TC and the second poster? But this did not come as a surprise I knew it was either going to be a port or a sequel to UC. I'm not much of a fan of rail shooters, but obviously over a million people are. I understand Capcom's thinking they figure we could go all out on a Wii RE and it will sell really well, nice profit, the works. Or we could go with a game that takes half the time, half the resorces, half the effort, but based on pass experiences will sell just as well, and equal maximum profit. Even if it doesn't sell as well as UC it will still net a pretty penny for Capcom.

I'm happy with this.

On-rail shooters work great on the Wii. I'd rather see a game that suits the Wii's controls than a rubbishyport with tacked on motion controls.

So its going to be based off of RE2? Well, given that there are now 3 more numbered entries in the series, don't be surprised if they keep this up.

Ok, Sin & Punishment is an on-rails shooter worth buying. There's a lot of fast-paced action, an epic story and it's in 3rd person, which I think does it justice. It's not a remake, it's not a port but a sequel built from the ground up for Wii that hasn't been touched since N64 days. I'll be getting Sin & Punishment 2 when it comes out and the original over the summer. Too many games to finish..........

[QUOTE="Ultamite-Ninja"][QUOTE="nintendoboy16"]Good, Capcom is doing another on rails and preventing complaints. Now if we can smack some sense into Namco Bandai with their other bad Wii support and Klonoa.nintendoboy16
What are you talking about? Namco brought us the awsomeness that is Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World and they are making the next Tales of game for the Wii.

The Tales games aren't enough to prove that Namco Bandai has good Wii support. They need to show more support like Sega does.

You mean the terrible Sonic games they release every three months? And yes the Tales games are enough.

With this there will be 6 quality on rail shooters?

SirSpudly

But but but you forgot Nerf N-Strike

Amen brother!

I've been mailing them for months upon months saying that if Resident Evil comes to the Wii I want it to be on rails like Umbrella Chronicles

Thankfully they listened and Wii owners will get another awesome game

Jaysonguy

Why on earth would you prefer a UC sequel to an exclusive third-person non-remake Resident Evil?

Because the Wii is easily outclassed in that area elsewhere

This is a genre that the Wii reigns supreme

I want the Wii used to it's strengths, not used to make poor cut rate versions

How is the Wii outclassed elsewhere? I mean, besides graphics of course. In fact, it could be called a good thing in this case that the Wii has worse graphics. After all, since they know they can't make a game that will look as good as the others they will just make the visuals on par and focus entirely on the gameplay. I bet you that if they only used graphics from RE4 they could make a game thrice as long as RE5! Capcom is simply taking the easy way out by following up the success of UC instead of the success of RE:4 because On-rails games are easier. So while I'm sure if they perfect the UC formula this game will be great, a third-person original exclusive RE would have been a heck of a lot better.
