I've put up with it since I first got the Wii in 08 December and I've also hated it the whole way through. Heres the problem: Its a tiny, thin sensor bar with a very long (too long) and very thin cord attached to it, thats easy to knock off, easy to fall off, and hard to position it for a perfect wii experince. The thin cord I hate so much, its extremly easy to tangle, it gets in the way and its hard to do much with because its so thin! Im in the middle of playing Golden Eye. Trying to stay alive and then BAM the sensor bar falls down. Im forced to get up, stick it back there, sit down and resume trying to save alive. But then, I realise I've not positioned it correctly so I get up 3 times trying to position it correctly but it s just not working. Eventually I give in, close the game (much to my dismay) and reset my senstivity. Oh, but to get there to do it is a nightmare because hey: The sensor bar is not working! I cant point at the selection, because the hand disappears when I do... Grrrrrr

So, I fix the senstivity and can play again. Unfortunately now I live the rest of my life in fear, waiting for it to happen there. (Like my melodramatic-ness? ;)

But seriously, the thing is bloody annoying and I doubt im the only one who utterly despises it. Well, lets see how many of you hate it too!

Actually, the sensor bar is probably the one thing about the Wii that hasn't annoyed me at some point. I didn't use the included sticky pads, just rolled a couple of pieces of scotch tape over on themselves and stuck it up on top of my TV that way. The bezel on mine (especially my old TV) is think enough that it stays in place quite well with that tiny bit of assistance. In contrast, the Kinect takes up a lot of room at the bottom of my TV, and the PS3 Eye is worse yet as the cord is incredibly short and must connect to the front of the PS3 due to its shortage of USB ports. It also doesn't mount well above the TV or below it, and is so light that if you breath of it it'll fall over or get tugged out of alignment by the short cable.

A cat chewed through the wire of my original sensor bar so I've been using a wireless one. The only annoyance I have with it is that it has to be turned on/off on its own (Not a huge problem). It also drains batteries easily, but I use rechargeable ones, so I have no problem there.

I haven't had a problem with it. It sticks perfectly to the top of my television and it's in a position that works perfectly for games.

My tv has a nice inch-plus flat top to it where the bar rests nicely. The cord itself I just have running down the back then around to the front where the Wii sits and no animals or small children in the house to worry about breaking it. If/when I move the Wii to a new location, I roll the bar and let the cord wrap itself around it (quite a few times) then just unroll it when ready to be used again. If it's that annoying, just get a cheap wireless one or build one from instructions found on youtube. It seems simple enough as it's only 2 LED lights that need to be facing the wiimote and games where you hold the wiimote sideways don't even use it..

Your TV must be positioned hella weird if your sensor bar keeps falling off.

My sensor bar never falls off. Not sure how you have yours balancing on the TV. Otherwise you can always put the bar just below the TV screen if possible so it won't be falling anywhere. My wire goes down the behind the TV and into the back of the unit where the console sits, so I never see wires.

You think the cord is too long. Make the cord shorter. Your bar falls off. Fasten it with tape or whatever. I see absolutely no reason for you to hate the sensor bar. Sounds like you're just complaining for the sake of complaining. A monkey could fix the problems you're having.

Not mine. It's stayed on the same spot on my TV since I got it. That thing has yet to annoy me.

my only problem with it used to be that it's very easy to get out of range, which is bad in multiplayer games.

but now the wii is in my bedroom.

The sensor bar is, IMO, one of the best things about the wii. Aiming with the pointer is so super accurate.

I'm playing Skyward Sword now and they've replace the sensor bar with M+ and I wish they hadn't. It just feels alot slower.

Thread is clearly just trying to start a flame war by someone with too much time and not enough brains on their hands.

The fact that the poll contains the choice "who plays wii anymore" is proof that this is troll bait.

the only issue I've had is that when there is too much daylight in the room the pointer doesn't work right. You can't complain about it falling off because you could easily go out and buy a little two sided tape or a wad of sticky tack and it will be fixed forever. If the cord is in the way then tuck it in better. It's not rocket science.

Why on earth would you have the cables out where someone can trip on them..? That's not the cords fault, it's yours :?

Nah you're just doing it wrong, simple as that. Never had problems with the sensor bar or its cable, the person that complain about the cable - learn some cable management.

yeah its horribly annoying. I just dont understand why anyone would think the a wire that long is needed. And the sticky pads they give you only work for a few weeks. And if the top of your TV isn't flat it pivots around which really screws things up. It should have come with velcro

It keeps falling? What do you have on top of a house of cards. The cord is too long, the cord should be behind the TV, unless your TV is in the middle of the room, don't see how cord length is relevant. I cant remember the last time I touched my sensor bar, it just sits there, never needs adjusting, never worrying about cords or anything else. I don't know how your setup is to have all these problems, but you might want to look into changing that.

I'm laughing my ass off here. You want your sensor bar to keep in place, and you never thought of tape? "Hmmm, how can I make my sensor bar to keep in place..... ummm.... no idea, let's go to gamespot and complain!" I'm sorry if we don't believe you, but it just sounds too dumb to believe.
