it looks very fragile though. do you think it will break easily if not careful?

Unless you're pulling on it with tweezers or something, I don't see it breaking.

Speaking of which, do you think the carcass will break in the unions as easily as with all the DS models? (it was really noticeable that all of them broke in the right side)

I highly doubt it but you never know, the hinges on most DS's have a hard time staying sturdy so just imagine how sturdy the slider could be...

Mine works fine, not problems what so ever. I have read that some people complain that it moves on it's own sliding down?
