First let me say, I can't wait to get my 3DS in May! But just wondering, where do you think the 3DS will be in 2012, 2013, or even 2015+ for that matter? The DS (in my book, all three versions) was a success, a strong line up of AA to AAA titles (although some where a tad obscure sometimes) and not only did it maintain the ever loyal Nintendo audiance, it enticed others to get into hand-held gaming.

But something does bother me, is it just me or do critics seem a tad underwhelmed by the 3DS? Why is this? It annoys me that 90% of the issues they find are simple software issues that will be fixed, most likely, before summer.

Where do you think the 3DS will go? I personally think it will fly like the DS did, however, lately though, a lot of people are theorizing that in the coming years, more people will own DS's then 3DS's, obviously forcing nintendo to go back to producing DS games... Anyone see this as a possibility?

imo, the 3DS is underwhelming only in its lack of really good games (that interest me) but its just out...and there are good games coming in the release pipeline let it get 6 months to a year of titles under its belt and then take stock of the landscape

I think critics have become way to harsh, and our expectations are getting extremely hard to meet. I think the 3DS will be fine, but there is alot of competition out there now, including their own DS. I sure hope it is a success though, otherwise we all just ate $250.

lets say companies decide not to use the 3d effect, it is still a major hardware upgrade. not to mention the analog circle pad as well, so the 3ds will be successful, its just how will developers utilize the new hardware (same as every system).

Alot of people trash the 3ds launch games with being weak. But can anyone name a super launch lineup? I cant think of any system that had a ton of must have games.

I agree, critics are really hating 3DS. I mean seriously, it can't be that bad!

with all the experience nintendo has you would think they would have offered atleast one AAA title at launch then there would be so many used already (as i read on kotaku) and whats with the delay in the extra features? *shakes head* nintendo you know better

like with ghost recon i realize this is ubisofts fault but really multiplayer only on one ds! camon advanced wars had wifi battles

People need to wait until E3 atleast before bashing it. Patience is a virtue; I respect anyone who is waiting for the library to grow before buying it.

I agree 100%...

All in all though, the 3DS is a DAMN GOOD little machine in my book. I'm glad I have my glasses-free 3D :3 if original DS fanboys want to bash, they can, in the end I (we, I hope :P ) have an analog stick, a wide-screen display, and superior software to boot.

I think the 3DS will go far :)
