I see alot of people asking what Wii Games they should buy and such, so I though I'd try to help. I have yet to play every single Wii game (I'm close) but here is what I say are the "must own games" if you have a Wii.

(in no particular order)
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Rayman Raving Rabbids
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Warioware: Smooth Moves
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz

P.S.      I have yet to play Excite Truck unfortunately

Sonic was alright, but I'd still rather just play the classic VC game I also have not played Super Swing Golf. That game and Excite Truck are on my "next games to rent list"

Ummm... Monkey Ball isnt a must and neither is Wario Ware. I'd say Sonic and wait for Super Paper Mario. Or maybe SSX Blur.

As for racing, excite truck wasn't as bad as I first made it out to be. Its always on those wii demos in bestbuy or EB but it can actually get quite addictive. Personally though, i don't think racing works too well on the wii - esp that silly steering wheel u put your wiimote into. Might as well just tape it to a plate.

You're right, the top rated game for the Wii shouldn't make the top five must have games.

I enjoy racing on the Wii, but if NFS is any indication there will be options including the normal analog controls.

Its called an overrated game, it lasts one hour, thats not what i call a must have game. It got 7's and low 8's but GS gave it 9. I owned it beat it and the MP was sucky. Not in the top five for me.

(in no particular order)
Zelda: Twilight Princess (Agreed)
Rayman Raving Rabbids (Played briefly, extremely fun)
Trauma Center: Second Opinion (No interest)
Warioware: Smooth Moves (Agreed)
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Agreed - better than Rayman (from what I played) the mini games are excellent, its true some of them do suffer from terrible controls but there are also tons of them that play just fine!)

P.S. I have yet to play Excite Truck unfortunately

I would have replaced Trauma Center with Excite Truck, simply becuase racing with the Wiimote is really an awesome experience.

Don't get me wrong, I think it will eventually fall out of the top 5, even within the year, but I think I settle this argument by backing up and saying sorry.  I would say that it is a top-5 must PLAY game for the Wii.  Maybe not own.  Only because it is short.  The utilization of the remote is the best for any Wii game at the moment and it does have a good replay value especially with friends.  I can't even make that last comment about TP.

I would take away Monkey Ball and definitely add Madden.  After playing it on the Wii there's really no other way to play.  The running is awesome.  Jukes, stiff arms, double jukes AND it is seriously deep.  Great game.

I agree, it does have the best use of the wiimote, so maybe top ten...

When people buy a new system they want new games. Most people already own all of these games released on VC, like me, so it is rather pointless.

I said it was in no particular order!...please read .....someone else was right when they said it should've been a "Top 5 Wii Games" (I was at work and clearly not thinking of the severe repercussions...lol) Also, I'm offering my opinion. Other people giving their lists are fine/cool. Saying I should've done this and that, well no in my opinion those are the top 5 games. As for Rayman and Warioware being short, they both are. Yet they make up for it with creativity and innovation. Monkey Ball I simply like some of the party games, it's early in the Wii's life, by the end of April I'm sure my thoughts will change about the Top 5. I didn't put Wii Sports, because everyone should own that game already and knows it's fun. As for Sonic, like I said...I'd rather just play the VC classic. SSX Blur didn't seem that great to me, just solid....could've done more with multi-player.

(in no particular order)

Zelda: Twilight Princess

Warioware: Smooth Moves

Rayman Raving Rabbids

Metal Slug Anthology

Good VC games. (No other MUST HAVE Wii games at the moment.)

P.S. I have yet to play Excite Truck unfortunately

The sad thing about that list is... 3 of the 5 games listed are just party games.  One is a Cube port, and the other was first made on the DS.

What - may I ask  - is wrong with party games? I mean ... unless you dont have any friends ... that might be a problem.

I think the reason so many people dont appreciate games like rayman, monkey ball, or wario is because they are playing them alone.

I really dont think that there are 5 yet. Sonic Metal Slug Zelda ...are really the only big ones for me. Heck, I bought the Wii for the soul purpose of playing Metal Slug more than anything... But if you would have to add 2 more, go with Ghouls N Ghosts and R Type III on the VC since those are about the only games that are not over priced along with Zelda OoT and Toe Jam. But since Toe Jam and Earl is not everyone cup of tea, I wouldnt call it a must have...

I rented the game twice when I took my wii over a buddies house and loved it, but yeh a purchase right now wouldn't be worth it to me although when it comes down in price that's another story. I love the pose cards haha.

I think this is completely pointless unless it's a special game that everyone loves. We have already seen from reviews and the like that opinions are pretty divided besides certain exceptions. Not to mention most of the top rated games appeal to different tastes.
