Well Mario is the mascot for all of gaming and Pokemon is in card form, video game form, movie form, TV form, comic book form, toy form, clothes form, bed set form, etc.

It makes money, but Gold and Silver were the last games in the series to actualy bring somthing metionable to the series. The series hasn't changed much at all.

I think its Mario then Metroid, and Zelda. But the the reason i dont think Zelda is first is because its the same old Zelda as before and nothing changes. I like Metroid because tof the bosses and how much its changed from the original. And mario is always changing and has more than just one game, like Mario Party.machod_19

Huh? Mario has delivered some of the most milkage this industry has ever seen. Mario Party uses the same formula and re-uses some of the minigames since the original N64 game. And as much as I love Mario Kart, the formula for that hasn't changed since the original or the N64 debut. Plus many Mario games have tried something new with awful or mixed results (FLUDD in Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Bros 2, Mario education programs....). The only great Mario spin-offs off the top of my head are Paper Mario/The Mario RPGsMario Kart, and maybe some of the sports titles.

What about Super Smash Bros? And don't say it's not a franchise of it's own, just because it's a spinoff of Mario. It is it's own franchise.
However, I think Mario is the best Franchise.

Best Nintendo franchise I find is the Super Smash Bros series. Nothing milky about it at all, each iteration has number of improvments (or Melee's 10000000x replayability/content over the original) and contains everything you love (and sometimes hate) about Nintendo. The game is a fighter, a party game and an in-built museum.

Runner-up would be the Mario series in general. What good Mario games there are out there, happen to be some of the finest in the industry. Also F-Zero is up there too - F-Zero GX was my favorite racer of the generation and still one of the best looking AND playing Nintendo games ever made.

It's nice series, yes. But it's only two games long. It didn't change gaming or anything. It's just a nice fighter. I think if anything, the best thing it ever did was sell Gamecubes. I'm not even sure I wanna think of a world where Melee never came to the cube. The cube wasn't great, but with out Melee it would have been a colossal failure.

well zelda was in cartoon form and we all know how that turned out. Mario also had a cartoon and a movie. anywayz Zelda is probably my favorite franchise so I'd say that.

Even though Nintendo has Mario and Zelda as picture boys for games... SSBB Truly keeps people into Nintendo. It does me.

It's Mario all the way. Mario made Nintendo.

Then if you think about that, Mario would be nothing with Donkey Kong's help. Infact, the Mario franchise is a spin-off of DonKey Kong the arcade game, the first game of Miyamoto. Jumpman is Mario. And Super Mario Bros is a spin-off of MarioBros the arcade game.

No one can argue that mario is the best gaming franchise in history because it reaches to both casual and hardcore gamers. However, the best merchandise selling franchise would of course be Pokemon. On the other hand, most gamers would agree that Zelda owns in Nintendo adventure games even greater than Mario.

Still, Mario sits on the throne as King of Games.

Well Pokemon holds the Fort down when Mario, Zelda and Metroid, and SSB are in production, so you gotta give it up to them and at the end of almost every pokemon movie in the credits you got a Huge nintendo logo so yea they doing it too

So its Mario,Zelda, Metroid,SSB and Pokemon ties because pokemon does so much on so much different fronts but its not wht nintendo is known for and smash bros although its a awesome game i love it to death it only has 2 games in series so it hasnt had as much of in effect but when brawl comes out it wil push it past pokemon and maybe even tie Metroid or if its way better than ciorruption maybe even surpass it
