I use to be to addicted to Jedi Academy on the PC. It's kind of like playing Mel, it takes skillz and you can kill like 40 dudes dueling with out losing once.
For me it's Ninja Gaiden with Zelda a very close second! Both are remarkable games & they are great examples of why the DS is dominating the handheld market.
Advance Wars DoR and Final Fantasy Revenant Wings.
2nd choice would be Mario Cart DS. It's just straight up fun.
Legend of Zelda Phatom Hourglass is awesome as well. Ninja Gaiden looks good, but it's so easy compared to the original XBOX version. Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles Ring of Fates is alright, too bad the AI blows (srsly). Waiting for Final Fantasy Tactics A2.
I'm partial to Professor Layton and the Curious Village. The puzzles are great, even though the storyline has nothing to do with the puzzles (which is great considering the game pokes fun at itself by saying so).
