It looks like it could be a good enough corridoor shooter, though Im not expecting it to be up to snuff when compared to some of the bigger shooters around. Also, Im not too keen on the art direction that High Voltage have taken.
Still, if it controlls well, Im in. Thats what Im really looking for in this game anyway.
The Conduit looks pretty promising. What we do know is: It looks good; It has very good control; the developer is evidently putting a lot of effort into the title.
As Medal of Honor has shown, fantastic FPS control on the Wii can lift pretty much any game out of the pool of mediocracy, so The Conduit looks to have a lot going for it so far. Unfortunately though things like level design, enemy AI, blalancing, story and all those are still up in the air and who knows how that will all come together. At least it has a good base though.
Well, it LOOKS to be a good game but I'm totally unconvinced. If you've looked through High Voltage's gaming history, you'll see that they've made LOTS of really bad games. I mean, most of their games score between 3.0 and 7.0. Their highest was about a 9.0 and that was on the N64. Only once have they gone over 7.0 by more than .1 or .2 since then. I'll keep my eye on it but I'm not getting my hopes up.Quintinius
Most of those games however have been licensed games developed for other companies. Creating licensed games is a much more difficult process, because of the many restrictions, not the least of which is development time.
For the Wii (and I repeat, FOR THE WII), it looks like a very promising shooter.
On any other system, it would be tossed into the junk pile as there are so many better ones out there.
Usually, I don't pay attention to FPS games (heck, I don't pay attention to PS3/360 news unless it's also on Wii), but The Conduit has me interested. Since my dad is a fan of shooters, my dad & I could squeeze tons of time out of this game (too bad there's no offline multiplayer, that would be nice).N-Oneyou dad?
that doesn't make sense. If it was on other systems, the devs would adapt to the way shooters are on that....etc. This is why Mario galaxy can get game of the year over games on more powerful systems, it don' work like the way you think. For the Wii (and I repeat, FOR THE WII), it looks like a very promising shooter.

Well, both me & my dad enjoy shooters (well, shooters aren't my favorite, but I enjoy playing them). So The Conduit seems great.

The power of the system isn't what I'm referring to - it's that this game does absolutely nothing special other than being a solid-looking shooter, whereas on other systems shooters are jam-packed with special features in both single and multiplayer. I just hope this one does well.
the game looks like it has potential to be a decent game. it doesn't seem crappy like red steel. only thing that bothers me is the subject matter has been done soo many times before. there are so many games out that deal with the end of the world and the future and aliens and monsters and such. had this game been made for the other consoles it would've gotten thrown under the bus but because the wii is lacking fps games and games the truly uses the wiimote to its absolute advantage, the game has sparked interest.
Looks pretty good. Is it rated M? because i wanna get it but my parents don't let me get it if its MXDXDXDXDXDXDXDLol. I'm sorry, but you just totally filled the entire stereotype of the Wii player in one sentence. I'm not convinced it will be good, average at least.
I think it looks good but there is alot of hate for the game.bobcheeseballAre you being serious? Last I checked there was love for the game. Back on topic, I was pretty negative about it at first, but when it comes out, I'll rent it before I'll buy it.
the conduit looks like a very good shooter to me. Does any one else have an opinion on it?skullandbones91
The Conduit looks great. Not only does it have great graphics, but it also sports 16 player online multiplayer. Make your own opinion on the art direction. Personally, High Voltage was going for an alien invasion in Washington DC....looks like they nailed it. Aliens on Earth. Screens show aliens on Earth with good detail. Not sure where all the negative "art direction" comments are coming from. Looks like they nailed what they were going for IMO. Get this game. That is my advice.
I don't know if you're talking about The Conduit, or The Conduit 2. The Conduit is a really good game though, its kind of challenging to get used to at first, but it's great.
Considering that this is two years old he is probably talking about the original. Please don't bump old topics.I don't know if you're talking about The Conduit, or The Conduit 2. The Conduit is a really good game though, its kind of challenging to get used to at first, but it's great.

Yeah this is hilarious. I was very confused at first until I realized this was started in 2008. Six months before the first game came out lol. Very random. Anyhoo.....On tipic I love both games! I think any shooter fan should give them a shot at least.
