The Conduit developers seem to know what Wii players want, I think they have flat out stated that they browse Wii community websites to see our reactions. They seem to know what we want.

I'm sure they've skimmed across our boards once or twice, so let's get their attention with this suggestion thread!

Everyone make a letter to them! Even if they don't read it just make suggestions in letter form of what you'd like in the game! Here's mine! :P

DEAR THE CONDUIT DEVELOPERS, PLEASE READ THIS:

Please make an easy way to play with your friends for online. In MOH: H2, you couldn't see what game they were in and you couldn't even tell them what game to meet up in so it was pretty messed up- you can't really play with them unless you explain the game's name or password (unless you're making the game your name or something., but you'd still have to look around for it ) And in Mario Kart Wii, after you were finished your race, and you saw that your friend was in a race a well, you couldn't tell if he was joining your game, or joining someone else's, and if you continue you game, and he's not there, there's no way to exit that game to join you friends. Not to mention sometimes you don't even notice a friend is playing with you (make the friends name a green color so you know ;) ). And please make ORGANIZED pre-made messages (not like mario kart where they are all over the place or MOH where there are only 15). EXAMPLE: GREETINGS, GAME COMMENTS, GAME MODES, GAME LEVELS ect... THANK YOU! (I hope you actually do this, you guys sound like you read this stuff!) I have am highly anticipating this game! I know you can make it good you guys sound like you have confidence!

What do you want in The Conduit? Letter form!

Here's my suggestion: Give us a lot of variety of things to do in the levels so it doesn't get too repetitive.

How about loserboards. Even if you're bad you can just go on the loserboards and say hey, at least I don't suck as much as that guy.

thats something that no one (as of yet) can do, as long as people like michael jackson exist Im not sure nintendo would be putting voice chat in their console

Don't sacrifice shaders for bloom lighting for the LOVE OF GOD PLEASE!

Let's have some decent MP with large maps, at least 16 players. Considering the amount of RAM the Wii has, it should be easily feasible and MAKE SURE TO USE TEXTURE COMPRESSION!

make a solid shooter. dont overstretch ureself...just do a few things and get the spot on.

so on the technical side, ensure it looks consistent and consistently good and it runs at a smooth 30FPS as much as possible. if ure implementing ragdoll physics or just a general physics engine, again make sure it doesent slow the game down and it behaves as we would expect it too. then just focus on getting the best u can out of the wii in the time u have.

on the gameplay side. get the basics absolutely spot on. make sure the controller is responsive and feels natural. also allow the player to customise the sensativity and other controls as much as possible. dont worry about using every feature of the wiimote and nunchuck, if ure gameplay doesent require it then dont force it in in some gimicky and pointless way. focus on what needs to work in ure game in terms of controls. if ure levels and gameplay are linear then make sure too keep them as interesting as possible as much as possible. also whatch the difficulty and learning curve. spikes are a bad idea.

on the graphics and general visuals and audio sides: consistent art direction accross the game is very very important. do not mess this up, out of all the consoles itll show up on the wii the most. also ensure animation is consistently smooth. have as much variety as possible in the enemy types and designs also...facing the same guys over and over again can get boring. introduce new bad guys that require different strategies to beat fairly regulary. as for audio, use it to enhance the atmosphere ure trying to convey ion a level, from appropiate sound ques to proper use of music.

so yea.....a shooter that gets the basics accross the board absolutely right is all im looking for. if u can pull that off then ull be ahead of pretty much everyone bar retro studios. its a new platform with a brand new controller type so dont overstretch ureself. itll also give an excellent platform to build on for a conduit 2 (like bringing in vehicles and having team mates and maybe a gesture system to command them and to intimidate enemies or something).

There's a reason there aren't any FPS's with local multiplayer. Aiming in your little box of screen would be terrible.

first of all online at least on par with Mario Kart. That thing finds matches brilliantly. Its on par with Halo and xbox live

second 4 player local multiplayer. I have to play Red Steel of all things if my friends are in the same room as me and it sucks. Don't forget this

let my friends be playing on the same console as me go online with me too. that'd be nice

have some premade messages like MOH BUT also allow custom ones that I can type and send so I can say "join game called x" or something like that. Also if nintendo announces voice chat anytime soon (E3 please) dely the game as neccessary to impliment this.

Maybe some online co-op for campaign? dunno if it would work for the campaign. this is really dependant on the kind of game it turns out to be

more game modes. MOH, our online shooter, only had 3 and one of them was team slayer which is pretty much slayer. Give us some creative stuff like juggernaut and oddball etc in addition to the blatantly obvious CTF and Slayer.

more levels. MOH only had 6. Not quite enough...at all. Give a nice selection. Some could be based off campaign levels but some completely original designs would be nice too.

can we play as aliens in online too. that'd be pretty sweet otherwise I get the feeling everyone would be either a James Bond type character or a Master Cheif - helmet type character and thats somewhat bland. Also the more customizeable our online character is the better.

the wider the weapon selection the better

Maybe I can think of more later. for now this will do

only if u had no eyes. its bad. and red steal has multiplayer split screen its the best thing about that game. i hate when online multiplayer is included without local. its like making cake with no eggs

yeah really I thought that was the one thing RS did right. Its also the one reason that it ever gets played at my house. Its also the only reason I own it

It's obvious the game isn't completed considering the lack of quality in the polygonal models and lack of shaders on them as well.

Make sure you keep your fundamentals strong. Make sure all the gameplay basics are rock solid before putting development time into other areas.

The all seeing eye seems like something that can easily become a crutch when designing puzzles. Make sure you don't let that happen.

I remember reading something about portals that bring in enemies. Please keep this reasonable. The sections in Metroid Prime 3 where you had to fight off unlimited enemies while accomplishing an objective annoyed me to no end, please do not let that happen in your game.

You claim to have taken inspiration from the Metroid Prime series, these games have been at the very top of every platform they have released on in terms of visuals. Both on a technical level and and artistic level. One the things that I think is the strongest about Retros approach is that they very rarely reuse their art assests. Every room and set piece looks unique. I feel that helps strongly in creating realism where as having repeating textures and other art assests in a scene like this:

Where you can see one texture and window repeated over and over again takes away from it greatly. Please avoid this.

Make sure the campaign is both a fresh new story and is refreshing every level. Also make the campaign co-op both on and offline. I'm glad you're taking inspiration from Metroid Prime 3 and Medal of Honor Heroes 2, it gives us confidence the controls will be on par, so make sure we can customize the controls.

Online, give us tons of maps to play on, a wide variety of weapons, let us play as the aliens in the campaign, and have more than 3 game modes, have the essentials like deathmatch, team deathmatch, and CTF, but also give us other things. Also, if you can, downloadable content like new maps is always a welcome addition.

Just cover the basics guys. There are so few shooters on the wii that you don't have to do all sorts of crazy stuff to stand out. Any competent shooter will be well received.

Just get an online mode that's a simple frag fest with some extra modes. Work with the wii, not against it. Look at mario kart. The wii is all about starting up the game, and boom, you're is a 4 player match with strangers, or friends if you have their codes. Honestly, you don't need to worry about leader boards or hosting games. You just need to get people playing as soon as the log on.

Don't force controls and don't add anything unnecessary. If you have a two button game, great stop there. Don't add features or buttons or waggle just because it's not being used yet. Seriously, B to shoot, Z to lock, IR to look around, Dpad to change weapons, A for an action button to open doors and grab cover, and swing the nunchuck to throw a grenade. Any more is simply too much. Also, get sensitivity right and allow for customization. you could even allow CC and GC controller support for those stuffy gamers that are married to dual analog.

Don't bore me with some B movie story that you are all serious about. There's only two ways to do a story in a game; amazing story, or no story. A bad embarrassing to watch story only does one thing...make your game worse.

Don't ignore great music. Many shooters just have you play in dead silence. Don't be afraid to use music to set a mood.

Try not to fall in to the rut of the same old missions we have seen a thousand times...set all the charges, escort the wussy guy, take the gun position, sneak past the guard. This is a game with aliens isn't it? Have fun.

Don't fret over visuals. It should look nice for sure, but it doesn't need to rival gears of war. Good unique art direction is going to be more important than any shader or AA.

I dont think goblaa that they would allow the preference of whether to use wiimote or gc etc .. that would honestly be their downfall... HVS please concentrate all your time on the wiimote actaully i dont even need to say this cuz i trust that you are not dimwitted enough to allow GC controller use but goblaa i agree with everything else you said ..

also i would just like to second what other people have said regarding 4 player split screen ... please integrate something which is seen in say perfect dark (original) or goldeneye, i can honestly tell you ive never had more fun with a game then the multiplayer in these games . LOCAL MULTIPLAYER PLEASE !

online voice chat is a must , not prerendered messages as things change in in-game situations, personally i could care less about single player as long as the online and local multiplayer are great. NO FRIEND CODES, invitations to games, detailed leaderboards, a ranking system of some kind(halo-like maybe) controls that are possible to play laying on a couch, as i do not always want to sit in a chair. quick respawning, strategic respawn points (MoHH2 was horrible in this area, as youd work hard to take a tower and an enemy would respawn right behind you, oh yeah, and maybe being able to throw grenades without switching to them. MoHH2 does that and i hate it, it leads to slower gameplay. halo is a prime example of quick multiplayer, which leads to exciting battles. variety of different levels. but again voice chat is a MUST!

I dont think goblaa that they would allow the preference of whether to use wiimote or gc etc .. that would honestly be their downfall... HVS please concentrate all your time on the wiimote actaully i dont even need to say this cuz i trust that you are not dimwitted enough to allow GC controller use but goblaa i agree with everything else you said ..

Give it a campaign that's worth playing more than once. Give it fun, unique multiplayer modes. Voice chat would be cool, but not entirely necessary.

I think if you feel this strongly about a new sci-fi shooter comming to wii and want aspects like graphics, voice chat, DLC,

you need to get an xbox and halo 3. these are probibly the same ppl who are crying that re5 isn't on wii either.

There's a rumor saying the game won't have split-screen multiplayer, but it will have LAN. Please, GIVE IT SPLIT-SCREEN MULTIPLAYER! As the most important FPS on the Wii (you know it will be), I need to play with my friends so they stop calling my beloved Nintendo a kiddie toy. Plus, no one uses LAN anymore.

Dear Devs,

Try to make the levels less linear. From what I've seen, it seems like the levels are very linear, which can be boring. All the areas are boxed in by buildings or walls, and there is no exploration.

I say good controls good story good gameplay online with voicechat lots of variety like tons of weapons to use and lots of unlockables and high voltage and make it look really good:) with non repetitive level design and lots to explore

This game should have a good online multiplayer, a decent SP mode, good controls, and at least a decent story.
