The Godfather for Wii is said to be the best version by IGN's standards.

EA obviously did an excellent job in making a respectable port for the Wii. While the graphics are not half as good as they could be the controls, game length, and missions are said to be better on the Wii. It scored 8.0 while the others scored from 7.5 to 7.9.

Now we should all support the games that devs actually pay attention to and make good. So please buy this game if you dont already have it. it seems like a really good buy. Let me know why you will/will not buy this game by voting and giving an explanation with a post.

Note: If Wii owners buy these type of games more of them will come. If devs see it is a successful proposition then devs will come. the main reason why devs are more reluctant to support Nintendo conoles is that the fans only buy Nintendo made games and third party games suffer. Buy some of these games and the really good ones will come.

I probably won't buy this game in the near future because a) I have little cash and b) Excite Truck is the next Wii game I'm gonna buy. However it is very promising to hear of good third party games coming out now, where the devs have really tried very hard.Zoso_UK

God Father aint boring its a pretty good game right now i got it on PC and Ps2 its very hrad on the graphics on pc Anti Alising goes to 5x the most ive seen in a game so far but it did well on my pc Radeon X1900XTX 512mb card.

Its not a boring game its very interesting its better then Scarface but a bit behind GTA story wise its better then scarface graphics its better then scarface but scarface has more options like buying stuff etc...

You're in the Italian Mafia in (assumedly) New York, in the 1930s or so. It should basically be like GTA with more class. It's based on a trilogy of movies by the same name. If you have seen Scarface, it's kind of like that, without all the swearing. And better accents. And most of all RESPECT.

Im a fan of Godfather, but i already beat the PC version... And im short on cash, so i wont be picking it up. Im happy with the good score though, hope EA keeps on making nice games.Adzino91

i'm not buying it.  I rented it for xbox, beat it, and returned it early.  i doubt much has changed in the blackhand edition to play it through again

Actually the Wii version has newer content to add: Blackhand Edition features nearly 30 new missions (doubling the amount from the previous games), ten new hit missions, an all-new favors, merchant favors, and police chief blackmail missions not included at all in the original games, as well as more weapons, cars, and gang tactics to use.

Oh yeah, lets not forget the Wii controls, which makes this game just as fun.  I'm definitely picking this game up.  Plus I was never into GTA or played it that much (let along other games like it).  So this will be a new style of game, to me at least.

For those of you not getting it because its GTA style. This is only partially true. First of all killing people in the street is not advocated in this game and there are much more consequences. So if you were dissappointed with GTA's lack of class you will get much more with this game. Second GTA has missions and that is basically it, while the Godfather has a variety of robbing banks, offering "protection" and much more. The main thing that limits The Godfather is that even the high end versions of the game are small worlds and even smaller than GTA III.

Also buying these ported games that are good will show devs that making full on serious Wii games is a good business venture. So please buy it because it is an enjoyable game.

I'm not going to buy it because it seems like another GTA/Scarface/Warriors type game. I'm getting sick of games along these lines. It allmost feels like the developers of these just pick a popular cultural icon and make subtle changes to the standard GTA:VC spin-off that has been released over and over again throughout the last five or so years.tar82

I'm gonna buy it when comes out on Tuesday so that's a 'yes' for me! I think the Wii controls/gameplay/graphics were the deciding factors in my decision. I've been following this Wii title for a while now and I think it looks really promising.
