I bought my Wii some months ago, in August.. And i bought Resident Evil 4 because it had amazing reviews everywhere.. and i must admit, i fell in love with Resident Evil !

Yesterday i bought Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and i'm amazed by the game too, i love it...

So now i realise i've missed a lot of good RE games, and i know Gamecube had a lot of RE games..

I've bought a Gamecube Controller and a Gamecube Memory Card on Ebay, i'm ready to go now, but my real question is, what good Gamecube RE is out there?

What Resident Evil game are a MUST?? for a Newly RE fan like me!

THANKS!

You should definitely start with RE make (it's a remake of Resident Evil 1 for the Gamecube, it's phenomenal) not sure of any other good RE games on the Cube Though, you can always looks forward to Resident Evil 5 though.

get all of themShreds_of_Flesh

agree...

but imo.. Remake is one of teh most scary, awesome gameplay and great storyline. RE0 has a different gameplay that is brilliant...

Also Code Veronica was pretty good (thus i think that one is for ps2, no GC.. no sure now :P )

Get the RE remake for sure and RE 0 for GC. Those two were the best after RE 4. If you've never played any of the others before pick up RE 2, RE 3 and RE Code Veronica X for GC too. They don't have GC graphics but they're still fun imo and a good way to learn the whole storyline.

Ok let's clear this out, just quote my post with a YES or NO besides the game, should i get the game or not, because sometimes a bad review score can still give an interesting game.

(Gamecube) Resident Evil (8.9 from Gamespot) :

(Gamecube) Resident Evil Zero (8.0 from Gamespot) :

(Gamecube) Resident Evil 2 (5.0 from Gamespot) :

(Gamecube) Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (4.7 from Gamespot) :

(Gamecube) Resident Evil Code: Veronika X (6.9 from Gamespot) :

Oh and if i get all these games, what kind of memory card i should get? a big one?

Thank You

dude how old are you? damn I feel old,

the best Resident Evil is 2. BY FAR. then the original.

People say code veronica is no good, but i loved it when it came out on the dreamcast.

Now if you liked RE4, I hope its because of the gameplay cuz the story sucks. And if you love RE4 because of the gameplay - you are probably not going to like the old (best) games; not as much action oriented, more difficult puzzles, and the camera was tricky.

those ratings are for the gamecube versions. Check the original ratings and reviews. RE2 received 8.9 for example. A great game.

REmake, re0, re2, re3, and recv

these are the other re games that are cannon to the plot line

there are other re games out there (like gaiden, outbreak file 1 and 2, dead aim, and the gun survivors), but they were targeted more for older re fans, like myself

and i have NO IDEA, what some of the other posters are talking about. there is NOTHING wrong with code veronica. cv is great, just like the other cannon re games. even the critics thought it was just as good as the past re games....

but be careful, as that other guy above me said. the other re games are NOT AT ALL like re4. the other re games have a far less emphasis on action and an extreme emphasis on solving puzzles to progress

oh dude, dont get the gc versions of those games....unless you have to

id try and find the originals, but given their age, that might be really hard

and try not to listen to any reviews or scores re3 has. re3 is my favorite of them all, even a little more so then re2 (which is usually the re fans favorite, but not mine)

re3 was great, and i could never understand why critics didnt really think so. plus, the nemesis is one of the greatest video game monsters ever conceived

About how long does it take to beat RE Remake? And even though the controls are different, do they still work good? How is this game? It looks scary and I want to get it.

RE Remake is excellent. It will probably take about 30 hours to beat. The controls are good with a GC controller.

Why not get the GC versions? You can play them all on 1 system and they are practically the same game as they are on their original systems.

30 hours? it took me nowhere near that long, and thats with both characters

it might take 30 if u try to unlock everything, and some things are REALLY hard to unlock

and yes its scary. its the scariest of all the resident evil games. re4 wasnt scary at all, imo. if u happened to think it was then REmake will make u crap yourself

A lot of of the Resident Evil games are important to the storyline especially the games like Gun Survivor. My favorite will always be Resident Evil Remake, and Resident Evil 2. Resident Evil 4 is good but it's overrated.

When he said "beat" the game I was assuming that meant unlocking everything. Not just "finishing" the campaigns.

Ok let's clear this out, just quote my post with a YES or NO besides the game, should i get the game or not, because sometimes a bad review score can still give an interesting game.

(Gamecube) Resident Evil (8.9 from Gamespot) : YES!!!!! imo REmake is just tooo great. a MUST (like I said above)

(Gamecube) Resident Evil Zero (8.0 from Gamespot) : YES!!.. gameplay is different but excellent.

(Gamecube) Resident Evil 2 (5.0 from Gamespot) : YES!!!! It has a bad review bc GS (as always) was expecting a improve in graphics. For me it was a great opportunity to have RE2 (a N64 game) back in my collection (where it would stay forever now :P )

(Gamecube) Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (4.7 from Gamespot) : Yes. Is pry the one i like the less, but bc is easier compare with others RE games (imo) and short. But a LOT of followers of the series think is a good one. About the review same case as RE2, is a port from ps1 so they expected great graphics improvement or extra stuff for the price.

(Gamecube) Resident Evil Code: Veronika X (6.9 from Gamespot) :YES!!!! great... great... game. Thus of this one you could get the PS2 one. is easy to find. AND there is a package called: RE the essential is just 30US$, less if you get it used (or maybe online) and it includes:

RE4 (if you have it you can trade it, if is not the wii version, imo to good to be change for any other version.

RE Code Veronica X

RE outbrake (the outbrake is pry the only series in the REseries :? that I do not like. Multiplayer is suppose to be good, but I have never play it like that)

So even if you do not care about the other 2, you would be paying a good price for this games (getting Code Veronica would be around 20US$ anyway.. I think.. )

Oh and if i get all these games, what kind of memory card i should get? a big one? yes.. you should get the big one, at least if you plan to keep playing GC games and keep your save data of RE.

Thank You

magicquebec

Hope that helps.... anything else? PM me, always glad to get another fan to the crazy world of RE :P

Oh... and yeap... I can of imagine you were old-school... (your avatar)

Have fun

WOW I'm really happy that RE4 at least spawned some good fans. Lately most of the RE4 fans are new to the RE world, but they constaly say "RE4 is the best and all the other ones suck" your doing yourself a great deed by going back and playing these classic games. I suggest you get them all they are all great games. RE3 is a personal fav.

hehe Just bought (GC) Resident Evil Zero for $12 CA on ebay, INCLUDING SHIPPING!!

And i'm bidding on the original Resident Evil on GC, probably going to get it as low as the first one.

I'm still not sure about RE:2,3,veronica... i looked at some videos on the net, and they look pretty bad compared to 0 and 1.

For me, graphics are important, i'm not going to go play games on the N64, it hurts my eyes.

Anyway i havent even finish RE:4, i'm only at 3-1. AND i still have to play RE:UC .. all that before SSBB comes out... OR if they make RE:5 on the Wii.

So ill play Zero and the Remake, then if i really want to get 2-3-veronica, ill check into it :)

if graphics r a big deal for you ... you would hate RE2.. but imo you would missed a great gameplay (once you pass/get used to the old controller set) RE3 has Ok graphics

oh... btw: veronica is the set right after RE 2 (some say is a parallelle story)

have fun with those :) and keep on RE4 after that is that it gets really crazy.. and you have to get the infinitive laucher (make the game too fun)

Resident evil REmake is a must.

Get them all expect code veronica, its just infuriating.

BTW, gamespot gave the gamecube ones bad reviews because their ports of the originals, all the originals got 8's and 9's.
