OK heres the low down about Battalion Wars II. The game will feature a single player campaign with 20+ missions, and 16 Multiplayer missions. There will be 3 online modes.

Assualt - You'll be attempting to take or defend a base within a given time limit. This will be 1 vs. 1.

Skirmish - The objective will be to eliminate the enemy using anything possible, there will be no time limit, and will require strategic thinking. You will have Barracks,Airfields,Docks,HQs,Factories, etc.. This also will be 1 vs. 1.

Co-op - Work with friends. Only Capture The Flag has been confirmed for Co-op and will allow up to four players to play. This might just be you and a buddy on the same couch going up against someone else and their guest. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I'm about sick and tired of hearing people talk crap about the Nintendo Wifi Connection Nintendo games. How they need voice chat etc..

Saying Battalion Wars II needs voice chat as of now, is basically saying you need voice chat to talk to someone sitting on the same couch. It doesn't make any since does it. Just like in Mario Strikers, you will be competing to be at the top of the leaderboards, meaning your army is the best. In Strikers Co-op does not mean that you can start an online team, and have a human player controlling every on screen character. It means you and a guest play on the same team. Its that simple. The same goes for Battalion Wars II. Its not that type of game, I don't see what some of you are missing about that. Hell, the first game was just a single player campaign and didn't even have multiplayer. So do you really believe that the addition of Multiplayer and Multiplayer Online is going to drastically change the vision and direction of the game. They are simply improving on what was a really good game for the GC. The core remains the same.

Bad comparison.

I have no idea what you two dudes are trying to say, but with or without voice chat i'm gonna get this game. But voice chat would improve it a bit.

The only thing a mic would do is allow you to talk trash to your opponent. When your against someone, theres really no need to talk to them. Just like in a real war. Do you think soldiers are out there talking to the enemies, saying "Im gonna PWN you", and stuff like this?? I think their jobs are to eleminate the enemy. Not to socialize with them.

I'm with him. VC would definately make the game better but I'd still get it without it.

Assuming Co-op multiplayer or 2v2 multiplayer is availible, VC would be a very nice inclusion.

Co-op online will be you and a guest, just like in Strikers. Thats still 2 vs. 2. Your not teaming up with other players over the net though. Thats why VC is not mandatory.

Do you have a source that says this? Because I have never heard this and am always looking for new BWii info.

voice chat is really only needed for games with teammates. If battalion wars is mostly 1 v 1, and the co op involves sitting on the couch together. No voice chat is needed. Of course GS will lower the score if it dosnt have it but oh well. Now if they dont put voice chat in moh where you will probably have teams because 32 players usually arent vsing each other 1 vs all, then i will be mad. It would be nice to have voice chat but it isnt neccesary

The first page has two links. Assualt and Skirmish are obviously 1 vs. 1. As for Co-op, it has been confirmed that there will be capture the flag for up to four people. Afterall, it is co-op, and it says that Co-op mode will have you working with friends. Friends are not random people. Friends are either someone you know, or someones friend code that you have. Think about it. If you and people from your friends code list teamed up, who would you play against? Now if you and a guest teamed up, you most likely be matched up with two other people,(someone and their guest) just like in Mario Strikers Charged. The online will not be that different from game to game, unless its a 3rd party game of course. Nintendo games will be really simple online games. Which is totally fine by me.

It would suck if that was true, although given the way strikers is I can kinda see that happening sadly.

What if it's you and a friend fromyour friends list against 2 random people? You can't base this off assumption.

yeah especially if it's over the internet, they should allow team speak ro something like that. I am against the trash talking personally but talking between your teammates is a different story.

The random feature is used to find someone of the same skill level as you. This partains to ranked games, just like in Strikers. Co-op and friends codes are two different things. Co-op is a game mode. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to play against your friends whos code you have, in the 3 available modes (Assault,Skirmish,Co-op). The online setup for the games wont be that different. Just like the DS, most of the games had the same basic setup. I don't see Wii games being much different. Especially games from Nintendo.

I know that but I can see you teaming up with one of your friends on your list THEN going to find someone to face randomly.

People open your eyes, sit nearer the screen if you need to. BWii is not somekind of thrid person fragfest. You take control of units (Which don't just follow you around, you give them orders*smacks head*) aswell as a single guy. Therefore the maxium is going to be limited by the number of armies available which is six so it's going to be either four or six player online. Period. Get unreal tournement 3 if you want a fragfest. Bwii is a Action/RTS hybrid folks.

The reason this wont happen, is because it has never happened in any other Nintendo Wifi games (including DS). Again the setup will not change. For example: Metroid Prime Hunters allows you to play your freinds, but when your playing your friends, thats just it, your playing friends or rivals. There is the ability to team up, but this again is only for friends and rivals on your list. So you need four participants. (4 friends or 4 rivals) It can't be two of you there and then it finds two other strangers to play against. We know Battalion Wars is up to 4 players. For what we know, 2 persons per system is the most likely.

I forgot about thinking of online co-op as teaming up with someone against someone else. When I first heard about online co-op, I thought it meant you could team up with someone on your friend list to take on a co-op mission. That's why I thought voice chat was important.

Note: I didn't read the article, so if the game does have co-op like this, please correct me.

i don't think it will need voice chat but if you could play on a team with some one not on the same couch like in a different house i think it could be useful.

allot useful

but doesn't matter much I'm still gonna buy this game the first one was sweet

Communication is a big part of war and can decide whether you win or lose, although if it's 1 vs 1 like you say then you don't need it. I am really really hoping that Skirmish will allow 4+ people to play all different teams at once though. If you could have 8-12 people in a battle that would be absolutely amazing though... dunno if Nintendo's wifi servers could handle that though.

It IS 1vs 1 but there's also coop.
